Equality or Equity? SEL Lesson PowerPoint, Game and Handout

In this PowerPoint, students will learn the difference between equality and equity. Incorporated into the PowerPoint is reading the book Fair Is Fair by Sonny Varela-you can either read the book or click on the YouTube version link in speaker notes. There is also a game within the PPT to print off as well as 36 cards to pose questions about equal versus equitable and some cards are just for fun. Finally, at the end of the presentation, there is a take-home poster you can print out displaying the difference between equity and equality in student-friendly visuals along with a quote about fairness. There is also a fun Crack The Code handout using Braille to decode a message about equity.
