French: Politique et Immigration- Advanced

Objective:

Advanced learners of French will produce a detailed mind map of the main French political parties and their attitude towards the question of immigration.

Task:

• Provide your students with the table document containing information on the 9 main and current political parties in France, along with a brief outline of where they stand on the political spectrum, the name of their president and 3 aspects summarising their views in regards to immigration.

• Using the table, ask students to produce a mind map: " Les partis politiques en France et leur attitude envers l'immigration". You may decide that your students can produce their own mind map, or use the blank template provided.

Example:

Europe Écologie Les Verts (EELV): Parti de gauche. Principal parti écologiste français lancé en 2010 pour renouveler Les Verts et actuellement dirigé par Marine Tondelier. Le parti est pour l’ouverture des voies légales de migration, souhaite que les droits humains soient au centre de la politique migratoire et que les réfugiés climatiques soient protégés.
