My Mount Rushmore (Inquiry Education Project)

My Mount Rushmore is an engaging inquiry-based project where students select the four U.S. presidents they believe are most deserving of being carved into Mount Rushmore. Students research lesser-known presidents and debate who has left the biggest impact and legacy. The project includes an instruction guide, research resources about American presidents, a class Google Form to collect votes, and a Mount Rushmore graphic for students to illustrate their picks. This versatile project works well as an in-depth research activity or a lighthearted debate to fill time during testing seasons. It also serves as an excellent recap project for civics and history classes by connecting curriculum back to the Oval Office.
