Psychological Disorders (Class slides, notes assignment, research project)

This three-part psychological disorders unit engages students to understand mental health issues. The complete slide deck defines major psychological disorders using the DSM while addressing common myths and reducing stigma. A google-compatible follow-along notes assignment allows students to actively process content on the mental health continuum, diagnoses, and well-known illnesses. Finally, through an independent research project, learners can explore a disorder more deeply to further their own or peer knowledge. Implemented together or individually, these resources aimed at grade 7-12 provide educators the materials to teach a comprehensive unit so students gain awareness and compassion around psychological disorders.
