Rounding decimals to the nearest whole number, 1/10th or 1/100th

The number line is ideal for introducing rounding decimal numbers to a specific place value.  Here we focus on numbers containing tenths, hundredths and thousandths and then round each of these to the nearest whole number, or numbers to 1d.p or 2 d.p. 

Worksheet Sets

Worksheet Set 1: The focus here is on rounding numbers written to 1 d.p. to the nearest whole number. Students are encouraged firstly to find the number on the number lines provided before doing the actual rounding.

Worksheet Set 2: Numbers written to 2 d.p. need to be rounded to either the nearest whole number or to 1d.p.

Worksheet Set 3: Numbers written to 3 d.p. need to be rounded to either the nearest whole number,  tenth or hundredth. In this worksheet the language of the questions is much more varied.
