Types of Trees word search, scramble and crossword

⭐I made this types of trees puzzle set for my 3rd graders during our plant unit. The kids could name a maple tree but that was about it. They got bored quick when I tried to teach the difference between deciduous and evergreen. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using trees like oak, maple, pine, birch, willow, cedar, fir, and words like deciduous and conifer. Nothing fancy.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they mix up "deciduous" and "conifer" sometimes. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple leaf and pinecone drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to pick a tree and draw its leaf on the back. The kids actually enjoy these.
