In this collaborative poster, the class will come together to create a poster that stands for what each student believes in. The poster has a rainbow with balloons and stars and the quote that is spelled out is "In our class, we are kind and respectful." Each student will get to color a piece of this puzzle. There are 30 pieces. The poster will measure 23 inches height by 35 inches wide. This will be a fun activity for each student to contribute into one large poster. This poster can be posted in the classroom, on the bulletin board on on the door. This poster is great for first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades. In this file, you will receive 30 student pages with directions on each page, a full color picture of the outcome, a picture of the black and white version as well as the black and white version that is divided into 30 pieces. In the beginning of the school year, it is important to do activities that build community and shared values. When doing this poster, students can also talk about what else they believe to be important in the classroom as a community. I work as a school counselor for K-8th grade. Chemical Elements – Matching Pairs Game & Flashcards (1–118) 118 cards for learning the periodic table A visual and interactive way to explore the periodic table 🧪🧠 This printable card set includes all 118 chemical elements and can be used either as a classic memory game or as flashcards for independent practice. Each card features the element’s symbol, atomic number, and name – providing a clear and accessible entry point into the world of chemistry. The cards are designed to be used flexibly. You can print them twice to play Matching Pairs (also known as Memory®), where students turn over cards and try to find identical pairs. This helps improve concentration and recall while reinforcing students’ familiarity with element symbols and atomic numbers. What’s included: 118 cards (PDF format) – one for each chemical element Each card includes: element symbol, name, and atomic number Use them as a memory game (print twice) or flashcards for review Black-and-white format allows for optional color coding (e.g. element groups or states of matter) In my classroom: I’ve used this resource with grades 7–10, both during our unit on the periodic table and as a review activity. Some groups like to sort the cards by group or period before playing. Others enjoy using them competitively, seeing who can name the most elements based on symbol alone. There’s also room for differentiation: stronger students can work without a periodic table for support, while others use it alongside. The black-and-white version is copy-friendly and works well if you want students to color-code elements (e.g. metals vs. non-metals). You can also adapt the game for faster learners by having them group elements or research additional properties. This is a low-prep activity you can use again and again – whether as a center activity, partner task, or quick review before a test. Daily Calendar Routine: High and Low Temperature Measurement K 1st 2nd

Here’s a quick way to include real-world math , finding the difference (subtraction), and number lines in your daily calendar routine each morning in kindergarten, 1st grade, or 2nd grade! Have your students record the day's high and the day's low temperature in your city on this large thermometer. Then you can find the difference : which is the daily temperature range! INCLUDES METRIC (℃) & IMPERIAL (℉) How to Use this Calendar Routine: • Note: This product is created to be printed on large 11x17 paper! • Print a large thermometer (with your preferred units C or F) in colour. • Laminate the thermometer. • Then hang it up as part of your morning calendar routine. • Each day, you will look up the day's high and the day's low temperature in your city. • With your students, record the date, the high temperature, and the low temperature on the laminated chart using a whiteboard marker. • Have one or two students come up to circle the high & low temperature on the thermometer. • Then students can help you calculate the difference between these two temperatures to determine the daily temperature range. Many strategies can be used: Counting the dashes in between the two numbers Using mental math or known benchmarks (make a 10) Using the standard subtraction algorithm How to Use This as a Worksheet: • You could also print a thermometer on legal-sized paper to use as a worksheet for your students to complete. This allows assessment of their knowledge of number lines measurement finding the difference integers (if using Celsius in the winter) Grades to Use With: This daily calendar routine is created for students in kindergarten, 1st grade, or 2nd grade. It could also be used in older elementary grades when introducing integers (if you use Celsius in the winter months). Finally, it could be used in life skills classes where appropriate.
