Dolch Sight Word Cards - Level PP

This is a set of Dolch Sight Words Cards, Level PP. What You Get: This is a 3-page printable with a total of 40 word cards and a "Level PP" cover card. Use these sight word cards as practice or review for your students reading at a primer level. Directions 1. Print, laminate, and cut the cards out. Note: These cards do have colored borders, so if you prefer black and white, please make adjustments in your printer settings. 2. If desired, punch a hole in the corner of each card and place on a ring clip. Memory Game Another way to use the cards is to print two sets of the cards to create a memory game. 1. Have students sort two sets of the cards in even rows, turned over so no words are showing. 2. Each child takes a turn turning over two cards. When two of the same sight word cards are turned over, the child reads the word and keeps the pair. The child who found a pair keeps playing until no pair is found. When no pair is found, turn both cards back over and the other child takes a turn. 3. Continue until all matches have been found. I hope you enjoy! A fun game to help your students learn and memorize the types and kinds of shells in the ocean. A perfect way to review and enjoy your Ocean Unit Study or study of shells. How to Use This Resource: Cut apart all the cards. Then lightly glue each back to a front. Run through a laminator and then cut apart each pieces. Lay pieces flat and upside down. Take turns with your students to turn over 2 at a time. When you find a match, you get to keep the match. When all the cards have been turned over and matched up, then the game is over. The winner is the one who has found the most matches. Not only do these cards feature seashell pictures, but they also have the corresponding word printed underneath each picture. They will get to work their brains to try and remember where they saw a certain image, but they will also be able to retrieve where they saw a certain word. Differentiated Book Report: 4 Different Levels for All of your Learners in Grades 1-5

This book report package includes four book reports with different levels of complexity. They can be used after reading a class novel, or for when students finish reading their own personal books. How to Use: You can start with one level early in the school year and progress to a more challenging version in another term as your students' writing abilities develop. Or, you can differentiate for your students’ current ability levels. Some students might need a simpler version while others are ready for a challenge. Topics covered include: plot summary, setting, characters, genre, making connections, providing a review, and making recommendations All versions also include space for students to draw a scene or the cover of the book. I love to display a class set of these on a bulletin board outside the room or in the library so students in other divisions can see the recommendations of what my students are reading! Grades to Use With: Since there are four levels, these book reports can easily work for students in grades 1-5. They can help address the following standards across several grades; CCSSRL.1.7 Use illustrations and details in a story to describe its characters, setting, or events. CCSSRL.2.1 Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text. Students can practice reading comprehension skills with these UM word family mats. Students can practice reading UG words in isolation and in the context of sentences. The words in this set follow a CVC or CCVC spelling pattern. Included in this resource: This resource includes one word mat and one sentence mat, both for reading UM words in insolation and in context. There are also picture cards that correspond with each word and sentence. To complete this activity, students will read each UG word or sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner to complete this activity. How to Use these UM word Family Mats: The students can simply lay the images on top of the word or sentence. They can be placed in a file folder utilizing hook and loop fasteners to attach the images. A magnetic activity can be created by using a baking sheet and magnets to affix the images. Students will love the hands-on nature of this activity. The bold and colorful images will capture students' attention, and the easy to recognize pictures are sure to keep students engaged in learning. These literacy activities allow students to practice target words both in the context of sentences and in isolation. Where can these mats be used?
