This resource is an Animal Research Systems Project. Students will be grouped into 5 different groups. Each group will be assigned one of five vertebrates; mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, amphibians. Before the groups work independently you will model the research process to complete the projects with a guided powerpoint activity which will cover broader characteristics of animals (structures and functions). Once you’ve modeled the activity, they will complete the rest of the presentation on their own for the remainder of the class period. The next day, students will be allowed to work in their groups. You will access the second power point link. Review the template with your students and then send them to work independently amongst themselves.
