Pupils work in teams of three or four. Each team lays out their 42 cards face down in a square and take it in turn to turn over two cards. If the cards are a question and its correct answer, the pupil keeps the pair. If they are not a match they are turned face down and the next pupil gets a turn. This process continues until all cards are matched and the winner is the pupil with the most pairs. If a team member thinks that the selectors pair is not a correct match, they can challenge. Pupils are encouraged to check their books for the correct answer but the teacher also has a quick-check answer sheet. If the challenge is correct, the challenger keeps the pair. If you want to give math students extra practice with geometry skills, I have just the resource for you! What You Get: This is aBaking with Geometry Activitythat was designed for upper elementary students who have learning or are reviewing this skill. This resource is a 9-page printable. How To Implement This Resource: You will print off each of the problem cards and the term cards. There are 9 term cards included: Point Line Line segment Ray Right angle Acute angle Parallel line Obtuse angle Perpendicular line There are 27 problem cards. After you print everything, you can laminate it before cutting it out for longer durability. Students will use the recording sheets to write the number on the picture card in the correct term box. There will be 3 correct answers for each term. Once students have been introduced to these geometry concepts, they’ll be ready to complete this activity. This is great for an independent activity or in small groups. Answer key included. I hope you enjoy! Many of our students love learning in a variety of ways and music is one of those! We can retain information better when we hear it through songs and visual videos. This is one reason we like to incorporate music in our learning environments. We don’t have to limit music to music class only for our students. In my store, you’ll find a wide array of music resources that students will love to learn from. This is a music video for your math students in 4th – 6th grade. The title of this song is “Flying with Pi.”This is a song and video that will have students learn about Pi. This video provides explanations and many examples to support student learning. You can implement this video at the introduction of teaching this math skill. The objective is for students to develop an understanding of Pi and how to use it to find the circumference of an object. This would be a song that I play multiple times for my students across the course of this unit . It is an MP4 file, so you can download it and have the option of embedding it into any slideshow you may be using for instruction. I hope you enjoy!
