It introduces the terms: Point (stated in the topic sentence & the concluding sentence): says what the paragraph is about by making a claim or sharing an opinion Evidence: a fact, statistic, example, or quotation from a text that supports your point Explanation: your explanation and analysis of why the evidence supports your point Then it teaches students how to use these kinds of sentences to create a cohesive paragraph. Colour-coding is used to make the information more visual, but the pages can also be printed in black and white. What's Included: 10 Page PDF ready to print and go! Title Page/Teacher Instructions Student Handout with all of the necessary terminology: Students can refer back to this again and again! Seven engaging activities are included: Two cut-and-paste sample paragraph activities: These activities have 5 sentences which are mixed up.
