A sudoku with a mathematical twist! Each sudoku square has a mathematical computation instead of a number. Students must solve the expression first before completing the puzzle. In the second activity, students will write their own expressions to make a completely new sudoku board of their own creation!

In Activity 2, students choose a blank board layout and invent their own math expression for every number on it, writing the expressions on a separate planning page before copying them into the correct squares, so the puzzle they create can then be solved by a classmate.
