After the front screen the first game screen will appear. Press the tent in the bottom-left to show the students where the ball is. Once you are ready, press the tent again and the cups will start to move. Students say the word for where they think the ball is at now. Playing the Game This game is similar to hangman but without the hanging! Question slide will start with a question at the top. Clicking the squares will reveal letters in the word. Students can guess words or letters at this point. Pressing the question mark will reveal a picture of the word if the students are still unsure of the answer. Press the question mark again for the full answer to appear (if you haven't already finished the answer). Clicking the white box in the right corner will change to the next page. About the Game This game mainly focuses on the spelling of short A words. With time spent on each letter, students need to remember key short A words and if you wish to make it harder, you can ask them to spell each word, too. There will be four words on the screen and a picture will appear. Click on the ball next to the correct word for the picture. Numbers are on the ball in case students are unable to touch it themselves. There are four animations. One for the correct word (a goal) and three more if the incorrect word is chosen. After a correct answer a next button will appear, incorrect answers will offer a back button to try again. Upon returning to the question screen, words already selected will have the number on the ball removed. About the Game If you want to find a fun way to practice key long U phonics words with your kids, this game is going to be perfect. Four key words will be on the screen during the question giving time to practice reading with the class. Select the right word for the picture and see if you can score a goal! 16 Rounds. Playing the Game After the front slide the game begins. First rounds are easier with less pictures. Later rounds are harder with up to 9 pictures at the end. Teams will take it in turns to answer. Gameplay Taking round 1 as an example. Three pictures are shown. After 10-15 seconds they will disappear. Students are to try and follow at least one of these pictures. Click the go button to begin. The three pictures will mix between themselves and end in a different position. Team A goes first. Anybody in the team can answer. Say the number and then the word. Click on the card to see if the answer is correct - 1 point per correct answer. After Team A have answered. Offer the chance for Team B and subsequently C, D etc in order. to answer. Attempt to get all of the cards answered before moving on. Click on the arrow to continue to round 2 . If you ever need to replay a round, you can press the refresh button on the left side. As the game goes on, you may want to change the rules by allocating 2 words for each team to follow with bonus points if they can answer any other words. With a variety of difficulties and short A/long A words, this is the ideal review game.
