Halloween Alphabet Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards Early Literacy

Halloween Alphabet Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Early Literacy This Halloween card set is based on the familiar “ Spot It” style game but adapted for alphabet and early literacy practice. I like to bring it out in late October when my class is full of energy but still needs structured learning. The mix of playful competition and letter recognition makes it a good fit for both Pre-K and early elementary groups. The set includes 93 cards in total, arranged as three complete decks with 31 cards each. Every card shows six different Halloween-themed pictures. The fun part is that any two cards always share exactly one picture in common. Students race to find the match between their card and the one in the center pile. Whoever names it first keeps the card. The round continues until the stack is finished, and the player with the most cards wins. There are three versions of the cards: round, square, and hexagonal. I usually print one full set, laminate it, and keep it in a small box for the season. The round cards feel most like the original game, while the square version is quicker to cut. The hexagons are eye-catching and add variety. In my kindergarten group, this game helped students practice quick recognition of letters and pictures. It also encouraged turn-taking and teamwork. For ESL learners, the visual clues and repeated naming of pictures gave extra support with vocabulary. Some of my students even started making up their own rules, such as timed rounds or team challenges, which kept the activity fresh. The game works well in literacy centers, as a short brain break, or as an activity for early finishers. It requires very little preparation beyond printing and cutting. Because it is flexible in design, you can use just part of the deck if you want a shorter game. This resource is best suited for preschool, kindergarten, and grade 1, but I have also seen older students enjoy it simply as a seasonal challenge. It is a playful way to bring some Halloween atmosphere into the classroom without losing the focus on learning. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Halloween Number Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Numbers 0–30
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Math, Early Math, Numbers, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards
Halloween Number Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Numbers 0–30 This Halloween number game is designed in the style of “Spot It,” but with a focus on number recognition from 0 to 30 . I first tried it with a kindergarten group who were working on number sense and one-to-one matching, and it quickly became a favorite activity. The Halloween images give it a seasonal feel, but it stays simple enough for young learners to use without distraction. The set comes with 93 cards , divided into three full decks of 31 cards each. Every card shows six numbers, and any two cards always have exactly one number in common. Students compare their card with the one in the center pile and race to spot the matching number. The first to call it out keeps the card. Play continues until the pile is finished, and the player with the most cards wins. There are three versions of the cards included: round, square, and hexagonal. I usually prepare one laminated set to use in math centers, while keeping the printer-friendly square cards as a backup. The hexagonal cards are fun if you want to offer a different look, and they tend to spark extra interest. This game supports a range of early math skills. Students practice number recognition, visual scanning, and quick decision-making. In small groups, it also helps with social learning – taking turns, encouraging others, and coping with both winning and losing. For some of my ESL students, saying the numbers out loud during the game provided extra practice with pronunciation. It works well in centers, as a transition activity, or as an option for early finishers. The preparation is minimal: just print, cut, and, if you’d like, laminate for durability. Because the game can be played quickly, it fits easily into a short block of class time. Recommended for Pre-K, kindergarten, and grade 1, though older students might enjoy it as a light challenge. This resource combines the excitement of a Halloween theme with meaningful math practice, and it can be reused year after year. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Build a Skeleton Halloween Craft Project
Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Halloween, Grade 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Crafts, Activities
This is a Build a Skeleton Halloween Craft . You can customize the ribs of the skeleton with your student's name or use the general "normal rib" template included. This file comes as a PDF with a link to a Google Drive link which you can use to type your students name on the ribs of the skeleton as shown in pictures. You can also use the general "normal ribs" template provided. It can be split into 2-3 lessons in your science class or for Halloween Craft /Project. Step-by-step directions are provided. Everything you need to print to create this life-sized skeleton is included! Notes for Teachers Students will need some direction to get started, to get started teacher will need to explain how to glue the parts together and model a couple of pieces so students can independently complete the skeleton. The Skeleton Diagram on slide 3 can be displayed for the whole class or printed out for students to see as a reference. I printed out 3-5 copies for students to use if they needed a copy. Not all students needed it. Note there are two skeleton heads; the main difference is the mouth. Either one can be used for the skeleton, both options can be printed for students to choose from one one style can be printed for the whole class. This activity requires a lot of cutting, it is recommended to split it up in 2-3 sessions. I printed and stapled all of the pages and gave it to students as a packet. Students tore off one page from the packet at a time and cut out the bones, this helped keep all pages together, avoid students from loosing or mixing up their pages. If you are splitting this activity up in 2-3 parts, it will be helpful for students to have a folder or place to put their work in until the next lesson so parts don’t go missing. Once students start gluing, remind them to only glue where they see the gray circles with the glue stick picture. #skeletoncraft #halloweencraft #buildaskeleton

The fun starts with crafting their very own Thankful Tree. This activity is ideal for classrooms or as a family bonding moment that doesn’t involve fighting over the remote. By the end, kids will have a beautiful Thankful Tree they’ll be proud to display, and you’ll have a little peace and quiet, at least until dessert. Fun, festive, and packed with good vibes, this writing prompt is a must-have for spreading gratitude (and maybe sneaking in a little spelling practice). Let’s get thankful! Enjoy!
