Will they be the class clown of the farm, the stealthiest turkey avoiding Thanksgiving dinner, or a celebrity turkey with fans lining up for selfies? The possibilities are as endless as a buffet line. This activity encourages descriptive writing, creativity, and maybe a little sympathy for our fine feathered friends. After writing, it’s time to add some artistic flair. Kids can draw themselves as turkeys, fancy feathers, silly hats, or maybe even a disguise to stay off the dinner table. Halloween Number Words Game – “Who Has It?” Numbers 0–30
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Math, Early Math, Numbers, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards
Halloween Number Words Game – “Who Has It?” Numbers 0–30 This Halloween-themed version of the classic “Who Has It?” game gives students a playful way to practice numbers and number words from 0 to 30 . I first tried it with a small group during October, when energy levels were high and attention spans were short, and it turned out to be a great balance of movement, listening, and speaking. The set includes two full versions, with 72 cards in total. One version shows the number words in standard print, while the other version has the words split into syllables. I often use the syllable cards with younger learners or with students who are still gaining confidence in reading longer words like seventeen or twenty-one . For more advanced readers, the standard cards are enough. The game is flexible in terms of number range. You can play just with numbers 0–10 for beginners, extend to 0–20 for a bit more challenge, or use the full 0–30 set. This makes it possible to adapt the game across different groups or levels without needing to prepare new materials. Here’s how it works: each student gets one or more cards. The student with the “Start” card begins by saying, “I have zero. Who has one?” The student holding “one” continues, and the game moves on until the final “End” card is reached. I have found that students enjoy the rhythm of the activity, and because everyone has to listen carefully for their turn, it supports attention and listening comprehension too. The cards can be used in whole-class lessons, small groups, or as a math center activity. They also work well for early finishers, since the game doesn’t require a lot of explanation once the rules are understood. The blank cards included in the set allow you to adjust for different class sizes or add your own variations. Preparation is straightforward: print, cut, and, if you’d like, laminate for durability. Once the cards are ready, they can be reused year after year. This game supports number recognition, number word reading, listening, speaking in full sentences, and classroom collaboration—all within a light Halloween theme that adds just enough seasonal fun without distracting from the learning goal. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we focus on creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.

Build a Skeleton Halloween Craft Project
Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Halloween, Grade 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Crafts, Activities
This is a Build a Skeleton Halloween Craft . You can customize the ribs of the skeleton with your student's name or use the general "normal rib" template included. This file comes as a PDF with a link to a Google Drive link which you can use to type your students name on the ribs of the skeleton as shown in pictures. You can also use the general "normal ribs" template provided. It can be split into 2-3 lessons in your science class or for Halloween Craft /Project. Step-by-step directions are provided. Everything you need to print to create this life-sized skeleton is included! Notes for Teachers Students will need some direction to get started, to get started teacher will need to explain how to glue the parts together and model a couple of pieces so students can independently complete the skeleton. The Skeleton Diagram on slide 3 can be displayed for the whole class or printed out for students to see as a reference. I printed out 3-5 copies for students to use if they needed a copy. Not all students needed it. Note there are two skeleton heads; the main difference is the mouth. Either one can be used for the skeleton, both options can be printed for students to choose from one one style can be printed for the whole class. This activity requires a lot of cutting, it is recommended to split it up in 2-3 sessions. I printed and stapled all of the pages and gave it to students as a packet. Students tore off one page from the packet at a time and cut out the bones, this helped keep all pages together, avoid students from loosing or mixing up their pages. If you are splitting this activity up in 2-3 parts, it will be helpful for students to have a folder or place to put their work in until the next lesson so parts don’t go missing. Once students start gluing, remind them to only glue where they see the gray circles with the glue stick picture. #skeletoncraft #halloweencraft #buildaskeleton

Unleash your inner superhero this Thanksgiving with the My Thanksgiving Superpower Writing Prompt! This fun and festive activity invites kids to imagine what kind of superpower they’d wield during Thanksgiving, because let’s face it, we all need a little extra help when it comes to surviving the holiday season. First, students will write about their Thanksgiving superpower. Would they have the ability to instantly teleport to the front of the food line (no shame in that)? Or perhaps the superpower to make endless mashed potatoes appear with just a snap of their fingers? Maybe they’d have the power to make every family member’s laugh contagious (or the uncanny ability to avoid doing the dishes). The possibilities are as limitless as second helpings of pie! Once the writing is done, the creative fun continues with a drawing. Kids will illustrate themselves in full superhero gear, cape, mask, and maybe even a gravy boat in hand. It’s the perfect opportunity to show off their artistic talents, whether their superpower involves saving the day or just saving some room for dessert. This activity combines imagination, writing, and humor, all wrapped up in a Thanksgiving turkey-shaped cape! It’s the perfect way to give thanks for the fun (and funny) things that make the holiday extra special. Enjoy!

Then in “Maxine and the Ghost Dog,” find out how Maxine learns to be the best fire dog of all time. Lastly, we will venture out for some trick-or-treat fun with a little boy and his dad in “When I Go Trick-or-Treating.” The night seems to be going well until they come to Mrs. McFearsome’s house.

Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words

Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words This Halloween domino set offers a seasonal way to practice both numbers and number words from 0 to 30. I started using it in October with my first graders, who were learning to connect written words with digits, and it quickly became a classroom favorite. The familiar domino format makes the rules easy to understand, so students can begin playing right away with very little explanation. The resource includes two full sets of domino cards, 68 pieces in total. The first set shows the standard number and number word pairings. The second set is designed with syllable-style breaks to support early readers who are still developing confidence with longer words. I have found that this version works well for students who struggle with spelling or for English language learners who need extra support with pronunciation. You can choose between different ranges depending on your group: 0–10 for beginners, 0–20 for more practice, or the full 0–30 for advanced learners. Having these options makes it easy to differentiate without preparing separate materials. In my classroom, the dominoes have been used in math centers, during small group rotations, and even spread out on the floor in the hallway for a more active lesson. Students enjoy the movement of placing down cards, and it gives them a sense of progress as the chain grows longer. The game also encourages collaboration, since they need to watch what others are playing and wait for their turn. Prep is straightforward: print the cards, cut them, and laminate if you plan to reuse them. Once the set is ready, it can be stored in a small box or envelope for quick access. This game is most useful in kindergarten and grade 1, but it can also serve as extra practice for students in grade 2 who need reinforcement with number words. It combines literacy and math in a simple activity that brings a little Halloween atmosphere into the lesson while staying focused on learning. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Let’s get thankful for more than just turkey with the What I’m Thankful for at School Writing Prompt! This Thanksgiving activity encourages kids to reflect on the things that make school a little less like a never-ending homework nightmare and a bit more like a fun-filled feast of learning. First, students will write about what they’re most thankful for at school, besides the obvious no homework wish. Maybe it's that one teacher who somehow makes math feel like a fun puzzle (even though it's not). Or perhaps it’s the class pet, whose only job is to look cute while everyone tries to figure out how not to kill the plant on the windowsill. Whether it's friends, favorite subjects, or that sweet, sweet recess time, kids will get to jot down their grateful thoughts. Then, the creative fun begins with a drawing! Students can illustrate their favorite school moments, perhaps an epic paper airplane contest or a perfectly executed lunch trade. This activity helps kids appreciate the little things in school, all while sneaking in some writing and drawing skills. Plus, it's a reminder that even when you're stuck with a 10-page essay, there's always something to be thankful for, like a snack break. Enjoy!
