Enhance the teaching and learning of the beginning sound of letter W with our unique and interactive flower craftivity. Our resource contains three different letter W flower templates to practice both beginning sounds as well as letter recognition. What's Included: There are two different templates that allow students to create a flower focused on recognizing the beginning sound of the letter W. There is one template that allows students to create a flower focused on letter recognition of both capital and lowercase forms of the letter W. Utilizing this Resource: Simply print the flower templates, and then allow the students to color, cut out, and assemble into a flower on colored construction paper. You can also print the flower design onto colored card stock to create a sorting activity . The flower will need to be cut and laminated. This can function as interactive materials in a literacy center, where students can match pictures to the correct letter W flower. Document set 2 asks students to describe the historical context surrounding two documents and (for one identified document) analyze and explain how audience, or purpose, or bias, or point of view affects the document’s use as a reliable source of evidence. [ Read more about teaching this at the Innovation blog ] If you are afraid to assign your students this as a test because they are not likely to do well at first and don’t want to bother their GPA, I recommend using standardized scoring. You can use the z-score calculator here at Innovation Assessments . Use 78 as your standard mean and 14.8 as your standardized standard deviation. The beauty of this system is you can apply this to their grades every month and as the class improves, as the class average approaches the standardized mean (78 in this case), then the algorithm affects their scores less and less. If you are looking to practice Fry's sight words, then this is without a doubt the resource for you and your students. In this resource, Fry's Eighth 100 Sight words are all featured.
