Tier III Vocabulary Entrance Cards is an engaging formative assessment resource for 11th and 12th grade English teachers to use with their students. As students arrive to class, the teacher can quiz them on vocabulary terms using flashcards. If a student answers correctly, they may enter the classroom. If they do not know the answer, the teacher provides them the flashcard to study before returning to the back of the line. The goal is for students to learn the definitions by the next time they reach the front. This motivates students to study the cards and allows the teacher to informally track comprehension. With over 50 Tier III vocabulary terms applicable to high school ELA curriculums, this resource provides a routine way to reinforce key concepts and give personalized learning opportunities.
