New York State Regents Global 10 Stimulus-Based Multiple-Choice, World in 1750 + Online Access In a stimulus-based task, the student is directed to respond to a document, map, or image using their ability to analyze and their knowledge of historical context. In the case of the New York State exams, there are eighteen “task models” used when designing questions. For example, a student may be asked to evaluate and classify (identify) best use of a source or to respond based on knowledge of historical context. Principles of reliability assessment are applied here, such as when students are asked to identify point of view, purpose, context, bias, format of source, location of source in time and/or place, and/or intended audience of sources using background knowledge. [Read More at the Blog] My custom was to assign a stimulus-based multiple-choice at the end of every unit starting in October. At first, students find these very difficult. I use a z-score standardization procedure to adjust the scores so as not to bomb out their GPA while they are just learning. It is a great way to score students in tasks they are not yet proficient at. Use the free Innovation standardized scoring calculator here. This resource is a comprehensive lesson that uses 20 fruit-related vocabulary words. First off, you can introduce these words by using the PDF -based presentation. With the arrow keys, you just move from one word to another to make your students familiar with them. Next, You can hand out the vocabulary lists. Beware that these are made with color, so in order to be eco-friendly you might want to use black and white ink. Once the students have taken these lists home, they can do the vocabulary test in their next class. They can practice with the words by utilizing the included flash cards. These just need to be printed, laminated, and cut. Beware of sharp edges though. You can use the curved edges version to avoid annoying pinches. Finally, use the Wacky Words activity to have a really good time in class. With this, all the letters are mixed up. Students love this.

With these sight word foldable book, students will practice sight word recognition. Students will use these books to find, write, and read the target sight word! This resource contains foldable books for the sight word: away The pages included in this product are: There are 2 sight word activity foldable books. Both books have a cover page to color, a seek and find activity where students color or dab the sight word, and an area where students will trace the sight word. One book has a page where students will simply read sentences containing the sight word, while the other contains sentences for students to first write the sight word, then read the sentences. There are 2 sight word emergent readers. One reader has students simply color an image and read the sentence containing the target sight word. The second reader contains the same sentences with the sight word missing. Students will write the sight word, then read the sentences on these books. How to Make: Students can either fold the books first or complete the activities before folding the book. The order is not important. To create the books, students will first fold the book along the horizontal line, then they will fold along the vertical line.
