Lesson two teaches about the major differences in the diets of toothed and baleen whales. Students then complete a basic organizer activity . Lesson three teaches about the different ways in which both toothed and baleen whales communicate and use sound to detect prey and dangers. Lesson four covers the major body parts of most whales. This activity will get your students out of their seats, moving around, and discussing the material. It is fully editable and requires very little preparation. Simply print, cut out the flash cards , and pass them out to students. Note. This resource can also be used as excellent question bank as it contains 32 high-quality questions that you can use in any way you see fit. This activity contains 32 questions designed to test your students’ knowledge of the unit they are studying. The questions come directly from the lessons and cover the following topics: • Atomic Theory and Structure Overview • Lewis Structures • Trends in the Periodic Table • Types of Chemical Bonds • Nomenclature – Ionic Compounds and Multivalents • Nomenclature – Polyatomics and Covalent Compounds • Intermolecular Forces Alternate way to ensure each student gets a new partner each time: Divide students into groups A and B. Prohibition - Mini Unit is divided in 2 parts: PART ONE : THE TEMPERANCE MOVEMENT With this part, students will learn about the origins of different temperance organizations and the reasons why they campaigned against alcohol during the 1800s and early 1900s. This part also introduces students to the impacts of nativist feelings and World War One on the temperance movement. PART TWO : PROHIBITION Students will learn about the impacts of prohibition and the ultimate reasons for its failure including the involvement of organized crime, corruption, loopholes and smuggling, financial losses for governments, and poisonings.
