Throughout these pages you’ll find opportunities for your learners in Pre-K/TK, kindergarten, and grade 1 to practice letter identification and phonemic awareness, specifically with final consonant sounds. All of this, coupled with a fun Winter theme makes this a truly engaging learning experience. When you purchase this product, you will have a set of 16 flash cards with both pictures and word labels. The pictures relate to words focusing on Winter holidays such as Christmas, MLK Day, Groundhogs Day, and Presidents Day. In addition, themed Winter words are also included. Following the set of flash cards are 7 worksheets with concepts in uppercase and lowercase letter identification and writing, identifying and distinguishing between ending sounds, and vocabulary building. Learners will also practice fine motor skills with writing, cutting, and gluing. When they move on to play the first of two hands-on learning games, they’ll also strengthen their fine motor skills by manipulating clothes pins or plastic letter tiles. The second learning game will build confidence in letter and sound recognition. Finally, a learning activity for the whole class is included in a Power Point format. In it, learners will journey through Winter themed words and letter sounds with Rudy the reindeer. All 25 slides are presented in full color. The two hands-on learning games are available in both a color format, as well as a black & white format. Most of the worksheets are also available in both formats, with the exception of one that is only formatted in black & white. Letter Sort - Students will sort letters by whether they are capital letters or lowercase letters. Prewriting Lines - There are two prewriting worksheets. In the first worksheet, students will trace straight lines in a variety of directions from left to right. On the second worksheet, students will trace a variety of lines from left to right, including curves and zigzags. Letter Tracing - There are 6 handwriting worksheets for students to practice writing capital letters and lowercase letters. Three worksheets are for capital letters and three worksheets are for lowercase letters. Syllable Counting - Students will sort winter themed pictures according to how many syllables are in each word.
