Designed specifically to focus on verbs, these activities will provide your learners with the opportunity to strengthen a variety of skill sets. Throughout the 6 worksheets they’ll practice identifying verbs, expanding their vocabulary with synonyms and antonyms, and developing strong writing skills. The two learning games will get your learners up and moving, as well as working collaboratively to identify a variety of verbs associated with the Autumn themed pictures. There’s no better way to reinforce skills that with whole body learning. The product rounds out with a quiz presented in 12 Power Point slides. Questions are taken directly from the worksheets, reducing test anxiety. Not only that, but it’s a great way for you to assess if current learning goals are being met. All around, this is the perfect product for you and your learners. The activities can be used over the span of 3 months. The worksheets are beneficial for individual or group work, homework, or rainy-day seat work. When your learners are a bit squirrely, set aside the worksheets and engage them with either of the learning games. Both the worksheets and games are available in a color version, as well as a black & white version. An answer key is also provided for each worksheet. The Power Point quiz is only available in color however, the answer recording sheet includes both versions. Take a look the details of each page in the list below. Día de los Muertos Reading Comprehension Passage and Craft Activities for Grades 4th to 7th What’s inside? I created this resource with grades 4th to 7th in mind because I wanted something that makes cultural learning easy to understand, but still interesting for older elementary and middle-grade students. While designing it, my goal was to give students a chance to read, think, discuss, and create - all in one meaningful lesson. This resource includes: A reading comprehension passage that compares Día de los Muertos (Mexico) and Shradh (India) A small set of Día de los Muertos vocabulary words Pictures of both Día de los Muertos and Shradh ceremonies to support understanding A simple mask-making craft activity A scrapbook/collage project for team work A certificate you can award to students when they finish Resource features I wrote the passage to help students notice how both traditions honor their ancestors in different ways. The vocabulary list gives students a quick introduction to important terms before reading. Pictures of both traditions make the topic easier to discuss, especially for students who are seeing these celebrations for the first time. The mask-making activity gives students a fun way to connect with the lesson through art. The scrapbook/collage project encourages team work, creativity, and discussion. The activities and wording are age-appropriate for grades 4 - 7. Clear instructions are included so teachers, parents, and homeschoolers can use it without extra preparation. How to use this resource? Reading Comprehension: Students can read the passage and answer questions that help them compare and contrast both traditions. Group Work: You can divide the class into teams to complete the scrapbook or collage activity. Craft Time: The mask-making activity can be used during art time or as a fun cultural extension. While each of the 6 worksheets focuses on adjectives, your learners will also practice spelling, categorizing, writing, and identifying synonyms. The worksheets are great for individual or group work, quiet seat work, and/or homework. When you learners need a break, engage them in a cooperative group game that focuses on finding the most unique adjective to describe an Autumn-themed picture. The 3-part “Describing Pumpkins” activity is a wonderful way for your learners to describe a pumpkin while using their 5 senses and creating a piece of artwork in the process. It’s a bit of science, art, and ELA all rolled into one. Finally, as a means of assessing your learners in their levels of mastery, there is a quiz presented within 12 Power Point slides. Halloween Preschool Literacy Worksheets

Preschoolers will have a ton of fun with these Halloween themed literacy worksheets. These preschool worksheets focus on letter recognition, letter formation, and prewriting skills. What is Included: Alphabet Mazes - There are two alphabet mazes, one for capital letters and one for lowercase letters. Students will go through the maze by coloring or dotting the candy corn from A to Z. Apple Emergent Reader - There is one emergent reader where students will read about the trick or treaters. Missing Letters - The student will write the missing letter in each letter sequence. Alphabet Cut and Paste - Students will cut out the lowercase letters and glue them next to their corresponding capital letter. Letter Sort - Students will sort letters by whether they are capital letters or lowercase letters. Prewriting Lines - There are two prewriting worksheets. In the first worksheet, students will trace straight lines in a variety of directions from left to right. On the second worksheet, students will trace a variety of lines from left to right, including curves and zigzags. Letter Tracing - There are 6 handwriting worksheets for students to practice writing capital letters and lowercase letters. Three worksheets are for capital letters and three worksheets are for lowercase letters. Syllable Counting - Students will sort Halloween themed pictures according to how many syllables are in each word. These worksheets make great independent practice, emergency sub plans, and can even be used for homework. The variety of different worksheets give students amply opportunities to work on literacy skills. These Halloween themed worksheets are no prep. The teacher just simply needs to print out the desired pages and hand them to students to complete. The alphabet mazes, prewriting pages, tracing letter pages and missing letter pages can be laminated to create a reusable write and wipe activity.

These acorn themed alphabet worksheets are the perfect activity to help students recognize lowercase letters. These pages are designed to be completed with dot markers for an added fine motor component. What is Included: This resource includes one lowercase letter worksheets for each letter of the alphabet. There are several ways to use these worksheets: Students will look at the letter on the acorn in the top right hand corner of the page. Students will then use dot markers to dot the corresponding letter on the page. Students can use mini erasers or other small manipulatives to cover the target letter. Students can use stickers to cover the capital letter. Students can use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to color the acorns that contain the correct letter. The teacher can laminate the worksheets and students can use dry erase markers to mark the correct letter. When to Use: Literacy Center: The teacher can place these worksheets in a literacy center for students to complete. Morning Work: These worksheets make a great, easy to set up activity for students to complete as classmates arrive to class. Quiet Time Activity: Students who do not nap can complete these worksheets while their classmates rest. Homework: These worksheets are an easy to assign homework activity for students to complete with parents. Small Group Activity: Teachers can call aside small groups of students who need more help with letter recognition to complete these in a small group setting. These worksheets are no-prep.
