My specific recommended age range is pre-k through 5th grade, though special education students of all ages will benefit as well. Of course, many older children enjoy coloring, so the coloring sheets can be used as a way to make the day more interesting, as a reward, or as a way to occupy busy minds after completing required assignments. Pre-readers will be able to participate by coloring the pages and can be guided by the teacher who can read the sentences and ask the questions verbally while the pre-reader is coloring the images on each page. Students who are reading and writing, or learning to read and write, will get further practice in developing their reading and writing skills. Students who are able will also be required to research the life of Saint Valentine. Students will learn about multiple historical Valentine persons, including one female. Students will not only develop research skills, but critical thinking skills as well, because many of the questions require them to think outside the box.
