Editable Sight Words Worksheets | Add Your Own Words | Any Word List
ELA, Language Development, ESL, Pre-Reading, Reading, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
This is an EDITABLE Sight Words Worksheets Resource that will allow you to create UNLIMITED number of worksheets as many times as you wish. WHAT IS INCLUDED one EDITABLE PDF file to make 10 worksheets at once up to 10-letter words creates limitless number of worksheets Students will: read the sight word color the sight word trace the sight word find the sight words among similar or any words you choose to use cut and paste the letters of the sight word to build it find the sight word in a sentence and write a sentence using the word HOW TO USE Enter the words, letters and sentences in the page of the document in the provided spaces, it takes no more than 5 minutes to do so, even less when you are used to it or when you copy and paste the sentences. Ten different worksheets are automatically generated. What I do is, make a copy every time I use it, include the words used in the name file, and save it. Then if I need to print a page for a specific word, I just search the folder for that word, find the file where it's at and print it. Also, you don't need to feel all the spaces to create worksheets . If you, for example, need pages for 1 or several words only, just feel in those spaces but make sure to add all the 10 words because they are used for the 'Find it' activity. Alternatively, you can go and add words in the missing spaces on the pages themselves. Then print only the pages you need and are filled. The option to add a page itself rather than the first page list, gives you the opportunity to add specific extra words to the 'Find it' activity. I really love the simplicity and versatility of this resource. It has became one of my favorites since I created it! I hope you enjoy it as well! Have Fun! Happy Teaching!

Mixed Questions The first question page contains four multiple-choice questions, each with a choice of four answers, and three written response questions that require a sentence or two from the student. Creative Writing In this question, the student will be required to write a five to eight sentence paragraph on a question related to the topic. Extension Activities This page is optional for fast finishers. FULL CATALOG OF DOWNLOAD LINKS AND ENCYCLOPEDIA INDEX HERE Lesson Snapshot Title: Harps Genre: Nonfiction (informational text) Subject: Music (Informational Reading) Primary Topic: How harps work, types, and early history Estimated Guided Reading Level (A–Z): O What This Lesson Teaches Best Explains what a harp looks like and how it makes sound when strings are plucked. Connects string length and thickness to low and high notes (how pitch changes). Describes the soundboard’s role in helping the sound “ring out.” Introduces harps as an ancient instrument and names early places they were played (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Sumer). Compares types of harps today (lever harps vs. pedal harps) and what levers/pedals do to change pitch. Learning Goals Describe how a harp makes sound using details from the passage. Explain how longer/thicker strings and shorter/thinner strings relate to low and high notes. Identify what the soundboard does for the harp’s sound. Compare lever harps and pedal harps by explaining how each changes pitch. Summarize evidence that harps are very old by naming where early harps were played or found. Key Vocabulary From the Text soundboard — flat wooden part that helps sound ring out. plucking — pulling and releasing strings with fingers to make sound. pitch — how high or low a note sounds. glissando — a swooshing sound moving across many notes. mechanism — parts that work together to change something. Cored Ed Encyclopedia Overview The Cored Ed Encyclopedia is a weekly series of lessons that you can pick up and use right away. These short readings fit into whatever time you have available. Each one includes a warm-up, a reading, and a set of questions, but it’s flexible — you can do just the reading, the full lesson, or skip the writing section if you need to. Each lesson focuses on a single topic so students don’t get lost. The writing is clear but never childish, making it perfect for grades two through five. Topics range from animals and science to history, inventions, and everyday things. No matter the level of the student, everyone should take away at least one new idea or fact from each lesson. The materials are easy to print, easy to explain, and require no setup. They work well for whole-class teaching, partner work, or independent study.

Guided Reading Level H - Who Cooks for the Community
ELA, Resources for Teachers, Reading Comprehension, Reading, Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Special Resources, Career, Life Studies, Social Studies, Economics, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Teacher Tools, Centers, Activities, Literacy Readers, Quizzes, Quizzes and Tests, Assessments
This Guided Reading Book - Who Cooks for the Community (Level H) includes: Guided Reading Color Label (front cover x1) This is a quick way to match the book’s demands to what students can generally handle.. The overall goal is to use the level/color to pick books for several smaller groups. To qualify for a certain level, a student is expected to read a book from that level with about 90–94% accuracy. If a student is consistently accurate and understands, move up a level. If the student is struggling at that level, drop down and add more support. Each student will improve at completely different rates, but it is generally one of the best ways to check progress across the class. DOWNLOAD THE CATALOG TO VIEW ALL GUIDED READING BOOKS AVAILABLE (SORTED LEVELS A-Z) Pre-Reading Question (x1) Teacher asks the prompt aloud, can be while showing the cover or first page. Students share what they already know, or make educated guesses from the cover. Prompt them to use the target vocabulary. Write some of their responses on the board to look back at during the reading. Vocabulary Words (x5) Introduce the five words, best doing it one at a time. Start by saying it, while students repeat and then see if anyone knows what it means before reading further. Read through the meaning and try to briefly connect each word to a picture or gesture so it’s meaningful. Ask students to flip through the book pages and point to where they see each of the vocabulary words. While reading the book pause upon coming across one of the vocab words or read the sentence twice to make sure students understand the word has appeared. Optional: Ask students to raise hands whenever they see/hear one of the new words. Guided Reading Pages (x10) Check the book snapshot (below) for: primary topic - do you need to prep extra reading or intro materials on this? what is taught best - decide on 1-2 bullets to focus on, use the prompt or words provided here for best results. learning goals - what you are checking for students to be able to do after the session, elicit answers using prompts or words provided. key vocabulary (see section above). questions overview - so you know what is coming up and if you need to prep extra materials to assist understanding. Run the lesson You may have already looked at a few of the pages together, but you can show them some of the pictures again first to set meaning. Depending on how much time you have and how familiar your students are with guided reading class, you may want to read the book aloud first with the group first. Students whisper or partner read, while you listen in. If time, do it as a group, one student reading a page each. Use the guided page’s prompts to coach: “Check the picture / does it make sense?” “Point under the words / try the first sound” “Reread the sentence smoothly”. Try to focus more on one student per session (rotating every time), so you can work out if they are ready to move up or need to move down a level. Comprehension Questions (back cover x3) This is your way to check that students didn’t just say the words, but actually understood the text. First, let students answer by pointing to the page/picture and saying a short sentence. After any answer, follow with: “Show me where you found that in the text.” In bigger groups, have partners answer first (10–20 seconds), then call on 2–3 students to share. Differentiation tips: Emerging speakers/struggling readers: oral + pointing On-level: oral in a full sentence Higher: one written sentence or draw + label Book Snapshot Title: Who Cooks for the Community? Genre: Nonfiction (informational) Subject: Social Studies / Reading Primary Topic: Kitchen jobs that feed the community Estimated Guided Reading Level (A–Z): H What This Book Teaches Best How many different workers in a kitchen help make food for others in the community (restaurants, schools, hospitals). The roles and responsibilities of kitchen jobs (head chef, sous chef, line cooks, prep cook, pastry chef, bakers, pizza makers, dishwasher). How teamwork in kitchens helps people stay healthy by providing nutritious meals. Using text to learn job-specific actions and tools (checking supplies, chopping ingredients, measuring, mixing dough, cleaning pots and pans). Learning Goals Students will describe how kitchens help the community using details from the book. Students will identify at least three kitchen jobs named in the text and tell what each job does. Students will explain what the head chef decides and why that role is important. Students will describe how the prep cook helps the other cooks work faster, using text evidence. Students will explain why a clean kitchen is important for preparing food, based on the dishwasher page. Key Vocabulary From the Text sous — a helper chef who is second in charge. ingredients — foods used to make a meal or recipe. responsible — in charge of an important job. specialize — focus on doing one kind of work well. nutritious — good for your body; helps you stay healthy. Discussion Prompts Pre-reading question: Who do you think works in a kitchen, and what might they do? Comprehension questions: Where does the book say people visit kitchens to get the food they need? What does the head chef decide in the kitchen? Why does the book say the dishwasher is an important part of the kitchen team? Printing Tips 1. Best Printing Method (Recommended) “Booklet” Printing (Best if Available) If your printer or PDF viewer supports Booklet Printing , use this. Settings to use: Print mode: Booklet Paper size: Letter or A4 (either works) Orientation: Landscape Print on both sides: Yes Flip on: Short edge Scaling: Fit to printable area Booklet subset: First test: Front sides only Then: Back sides only This will automatically: Pair pages correctly Put the cover on the outside Align everything for folding After printing, fold in half and staple along the spine . 2. If “Booklet” Printing Is NOT Available You can still print this correctly with manual duplex printing . Step-by-step: Open the PDF. Choose Print . Set: Orientation: Landscape Pages per sheet: 1 Print on both sides: Yes Flip on: Short edge Print all pages . Because each PDF page already contains two facing book pages, the result will still fold cleanly into a book. Thousands of Cored Education products are included with your TeachSimple membership. ELA, Writing, Creative Writing, Grammar, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Getting kids to enjoy writing during the early elementary years is key. One way we can do that is to tie in their interests to the writing process. Kids love super heroes and getting to put themselves in a super hero's shoes is a dream come true for many kids! This activity gives kids the chance to choose their task, super power, and color scheme. Then they're off on their mission! Including the appropriate sequence of events, as well as a conflict is key. Thinking about the way we think is a foundational skill for growing the executive functions our kiddos will use in the editing process. For this reason, a short checklist has been included at the end of page 4 so that learners can begin to go back and check their work. This key skill in developing healthy executive functioning is intentionally made visible to students to prompt ownership over the quality of their writing. STANDARDS: Meets CCSS Writing standards for grades 2-5. Don't forget to check out the Chef's Toolbox, Superhero's Toolbox, and Astronaut's Toolbox activities for more fun! These activities can be used with a whole class in addition to the writing challenge printable. By using the included matrix to choose the color scheme, superpower, and mission, they'll enjoy the freedom afforded them to create something they love. BONUS: Take advantage of the 4 extension activity ideas included in this printable. These activities will take their writing beyond the page and bring it to life in STEAM-supported outlets. What you'll get: a 4 page PDF including instructions, extension activity ideas, and 3 student pages. One of these pages is simply writing space for you to print off as many copies as you need based on the amount your students are writing. Inverse Operations Addition and Subtraction Worksheet
Math, Addition and Subtraction, Addition, Subtraction, Grade 2, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Inverse Operations Addition and Subtraction Worksheet This 2-page printable allows students to practice addition and subtraction by using inverse operations. Inverse operations are a set of two opposite operations that undo each other. On the first page, students are given 3 numbers in each of the 12 boxes.
