Introduce or review many different contractions with these contractions worksheets. Contractions are created when two words are made into one word. The missing letters are replaced with an apostrophe. Since most contractions follow the same pattern of letter elimination, these worksheets help students to get a lot of practice writing and breaking apart contractions. What is Included: There are seven cut and paste worksheets for students to match the words to the contractions. There are seven cut and paste worksheets for students to match contractions to the words. There are six write the word worksheets for students to write the contraction based on the words. There are six write the word worksheets for students to write the words based on the contraction. The cut and paste worksheets have a section at the bottom for students to write one sentence using one or more of the contractions from that page. This gives students the ability to practice using contractions in the context of a sentence instead of just in isolation. How to Use: Independent Practice - The teacher may give these worksheets to students to complete independently as a classroom assignment. Emergency Sub Plans - The no prep nature of these worksheets allow teachers to leave these for subs to assign to students with ease. Homework - These worksheets are a great activity to send home with students to practice working on contractions with their parents. Small Group Activities - Students may choose to pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice working with contractions to use these worksheets. These contractions worksheets are no prep. They can simply be printed and given to students to complete.
