Are your students or kids stuck with a blank page due to a large assignment? Do they know how to do the assignment but can’t figure out the best way to jump into it? This is not because of laziness—this is an example of a breakdown in Task Initiation, which is one of the key executive functions of the brain. Support your students to move from being passive and procrastinating to becoming active creators of their success with our comprehensive neuroscience-based curriculum. This 42-page instructional manual and workbook supports creating a step-by-step strategy to overcome your student's brain's resistance to getting started with completing tasks. By applying the principles of cognitive offloading and granular sequencing, this manual and workbook will provide you with the ultimate guide to how to accomplish your goals. This resource is designed for teachers, parents, school counselors, and executive function coaches to support helping to create lifelong habits, build confidence in school, and decrease the anxiety and stress associated with homework. Contents of this 42-page document. The Neuroscience Guide (Part 1) (The “Why”) The neuroscience of procrastination. Easy-to-understand explanations for the science of procrastination (brain science) include energy, limbic friction, activation energy, time blindness, etc. Real-life examples of the science from students and short quizzes to test knowledge and understanding. The Student Workbook (Part 2) (The “How”) 10 in-depth printed worksheets provide a complete scaffolded framework for developing executive function. Actionable Steps: Deconstruct larger projects into small tasks, identify and eliminate friction, create a five-minute launchpad, master micro steps, create an executive execution ladder, eliminate distractions, and create empathy for your future self. Teacher Implementation Guide: A detailed scripted guide on how to introduce these concepts and protocols such as the “Body Double” technique. Differentiation for Neurodivergent Learners: A separate section for specific, powerful strategies for students with ADHD, ASD, and Dyslexia. Not only is this a study skills printable, but it is a powerful cognitive resource that helps students understand themselves so that they may use the resources available to them to work more efficiently with their brain, rather than against it. Keywords: Executive Functioning, Study Skills, Procrastination, Task Initiation, ADHD Support, Neurodiversity, SEL, Middle School, High School, Printable Workbook, Digital Download, Homework Help, Time Management, Metacognition, Growth Mindset, Resources for Teachers, Resources for School Counselors, Parent Guide. What Makes It Busy and Maternal/School Parent-Friendly : Based on Neuroscience (not-created based off "Shame"): It regards procrastination as a normal neurological event, not an individual's defect nor character flaw. This removes guilt associated with procrastination by providing students with a "hacker" mindset to achieve the best outcome for their situation based on the wiring of their brains. Has Actionable, Step-By-Step Tools: Instead of vague and subjective statements like “just break it down,” this curriculum focuses on rigorous, rigorous sequencing (providing valuable resource worksheets/checklists) and concrete ways that a student can apply the information immediately. Targets Neurodivergent Learners: The section on differentiation for ADHD, ASD and Dyslexia students is a must-have addition to any inclusive classroom and will meet needs of all parents with children needing specific support; therefore, it is an extremely "valuable" and "highly-valuable" resource. Develops Lifelong Skills (beyond a one-time project): In addition to a single project, skills presented include metacognition, self-regulation, and planning—all important life-skills needed to continue and succeed throughout high school, college and after. The primary target audience is middle school students (6th-8th grade). The multiple case studies included (6th, 8th grade), the reorganization of the prefrontal cortex and task characteristics align directly with this group. The second target audience is upper elementary (4th-5th Grade) and high school (9th-12th Grade). As stated in the "Visuals & Teacher Keys" section: "(Grade 4-8)". The concepts provided are foundational and lend themselves readily to alteration, both upwards and downwards. The secondary audience of the content and the example case studies was all post-high school students ages 12+ including: young adults transitioning to a 4-year college, first-year college freshmen, and working adults looking to upskill/re-skill. Additionally; case studies of older adults (past PhD graduates and adults in their late 20s seeking to transition from administrative positions to logistics in the bio-tech industry) demonstrate that the resource promotes lifelong learning, investigation, and adapting to shifting technologies (e.g., AI and quantum computing). Some target classes could be the introductory college career development course; vocational training program; and adult learning/education workshops about Artificial Intelligence Ethics and skill bridging. "AI Agents: An Introduction to Simple Automated Task Worksheets for Middle-Grade Students" consists of a total of 34 pages in one downloadable PDF file. In this workbook, students will learn about digital agents and task automation, and will gain insight into the basics of A.I. This workbook is ideally suited for STEM, computer science and technology education classes with no coding required. The agent-oriented design framework will be introduced to students as they learn how to break complex tasks down into components (sensors, logic processors, actuators). In doing so, students will also gain a greater understanding of how to decompose tasks, create algorithms, utilize loops, use branching paths and interact in multi-agent environments by completing ten exciting student worksheets that have a variety of scenarios (e.g., digital backpack organizer, community garden irrigation aid, library return kiosk, drone delivery, wildlife rescue, etc.). In addition to the ten worksheets, teachers will be able to use various templates, conceptual diagrams (automation cycle, feasibility filter, logic trees), comprehensive answer keys, and visual organization charts/projects for presentation and/or printing purposes. No prior coding skills will be required to participate in this activity; therefore, it is an excellent means to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and technology literacy in this A.I. age. Reasons Schools & Families are Crazed for It : •Incredible hands-on activities and experiences with real-world examples create connections to complex ideas about AI. •No-preparation necessary for educators- All materials ready to go in a few minutes. •Future readiness through foundational skills e.g. computational thinking, logical reasoning & AI literacy. •Support for all students and challenging activities for advanced learners through differentiated formats. •Unbeatable value for 1 PDF filled with meaningful STEM experiences, the extent of which can provide anywhere from weeks to years of STEM aligned content and reflect the 21st century standards. Audience : Target Audience Grade Level This resource is formatted for grades of 5 to 8 specifically and is written/designed with middle school student ages using appropriate language, characteristics, and structure as developed by the cognitive scaffolding framework for middle school students. It is designed to be effective for: Grade 5 and 6 (introduction of automation concepts) Grade 7 and 8 (additional logic/concepts/logical branches/multitudes of agents) classrooms of various levels of ability, students identified as gifted,; students homeschooled; students participating in after school or summer STEM oriented programs. Biology Binder Covers – Templates for Classroom Use

Biology Binder Covers – Templates for Classroom Use Organize your biology handouts, notes, and units with visual clarity Simple and flexible templates to help organize your biology materials In my biology classes, it can be a challenge to keep things organized - especially when it comes to multiple units, lab notes, worksheets and review materials. To make it easier for my students and myself, I designed these simple binder sleeves. There are 12 different pages. The covers have a clean, colorful blob layout that is friendly but not distracting. I usually print them out and use them as cover sheets or as dividers in folders for students or teachers. They also work well for digital learning environments, e.g. as section covers in PDF files or on classroom platforms. I like that the color scheme allows students to quickly find what they are looking for, and it brings a little more structure to a subject that is often riddled with formulas and technical terms. When used as cover sheets, students can choose their favorite color for their cover sheet. This resource is handy - and has saved me a lot of time in lesson preparation and follow-up. What’s included: 12 biology-themed cover pages different colors zu choose as a cover sheet as a divider between the individual biology topics I've printed these on colored paper for my own binder and also used them digitally in student notebooks. Works well for both teacher organization and student-facing materials. 📍 Best wishes, Heike from Lernfitness Biology teacher (Chemistry teacher, Math teacher) in Germany Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we create a positive and inspiring learning environment. 🐶✨
