This is a series of 22 graded, decodable phonic reading books with 10 matching workbooks , one for each sound taught. They are highly structured to enable every child of all abilities to succeed as a reader. They teach a child to read using words with the common digraphs ck, oo, ee, sh, ch, th, ng, ing, ar. These books form part of the Reading Made Simple phonic reading programme. They follow the: CVC Words Reading Books Consonant Blends Reading Books These books are intended to be read in sequence and come with instructions on how to teach each new sound and how to hear a child read. Beginners need a structured phonics approach and gradual progression - these books provide that support. What is included? 22 PDF reading books 10 matching phonic workbooks 1 PDF of instructions and supporting resources ( flashcards , dictations and wordlists) Main features: Most words can be sounded out using the necessary phonic knowledge. We introduce one phonic sound at a time. Previously taught sounds are constantly reviewed, so allowing the child to build reading fluency. Sight words are introduced gradually, but only those that cannot be learned in a phonetic family, or will be needed before the family has been studied. •Pictures make up for the lack of words, while not encouraging guessing. •Each book tries to tell a simple story. •Each book has been tested on children with severe special needs and those with none – all have loved them as they can read them! •The books should be read in order as words from all five vowel families are gradually introduced, starting with those in the /a/ family. 5 matching workbooks to consolidate learning and to help children to integrate their new reading and spelling skills into everyday literacy. This is a Phonic spelling programme. Not only will it teach a child to spell, but also to write. Just add a good handwriting programme. The spelling programme can be used with all ages from 5 to 99, however, if used with a young learner I strongly advise using the programme to teach both reading and spelling at the same time. The spelling programme can be used: with children who have learnt to read, but need a spelling/writing programme with children who have tried another phonic programme and not made much progress with reading and/or spelling/writing with a special needs child who needs a very structured approach to learning by home educators by parents wishing to help their child at home About the programme The programme is very flexible and can be made to fit the child, rather than the child to fit the programme. Being highly structured, each new lesson builds on the one before, constantly revising the previously taught material The spelling programme will take 41 weeks to teach. One new sound is taught each week. What is included? The teacher's manual with full lesson plans and helpful teaching tips A list of the keywords for each lesson with the phonic sound highlighted - for practice and revision 39 spelling worksheets The Reading Made Simple Phonic flashcards The Odd Word flashcards About the worksheets The worksheets use time-honoured exercises to help pupils to become familiar with the new sound and revise previously taught ones. They include such exercises as tracking the new sound in words, proofreading as well as comprehension questions. Children generally find them fun because they are so easy due to the way learning is structured throughout the programme. To make it easier for my students and myself, I designed these simple binder sleeves. There are 12 different pages. The covers have a clean, colorful blob layout that is friendly but not distracting. I usually print them out and use them as cover sheets or as dividers in folders for students or teachers. They also work well for digital learning environments, e.g. as section covers in PDF files or on classroom platforms. I like that the color scheme allows students to quickly find what they are looking for, and it brings a little more structure to a subject that is often riddled with formulas and technical terms. When used as cover sheets, students can choose their favorite color for their cover sheet. This resource is handy - and has saved me a lot of time in lesson preparation and follow-up. As a Registered Dietitian, I understand the importance of food safety. I also understand the importance of food safety being taught early on to kids as young as possible. That's why I created this activity pack. Students will become familiar with all aspects of food safety and cutting board safety. Students of all ages will benefit from this food safety product. It can be used for basic science projects, as food safety is science as well as math (temperatures for example). They will learn about cross contamination and how to prevent food borne illness. There are four important steps to food safety in the kitchen. All steps will be covered in detail. They will also become familiar with important food temperatures in cooking, freezing, and holding food safely. They will learn about foods that are more likely to make a person sick if they are not properly handled and kept at a safe temperature. For example, milk-based products such as pudding and yogurt. Students will learn the importance of making sure their lunches brought from home are safe to eat by the time mealtime arrives. They will learn the difference between cleaning and sanitizing when cleaning up the kitchen after cooking a meal. They will learn about proper refrigeration and freezing methods. Students will learn about the different kinds of cutting boards, the importance of different types of foods being only used with different kinds of cutting boards, as well as how to tell a cutting board is not safe to use (old or worn out), and how to properly clean a cutting board. Multiple activities include fill-in-the-blank, matching, coloring, identification, lots of practice to help make sure students are learning the materials (Quizzes). Students will learn more than they ever thought they needed to know. 40 pages of activities including answer keys, pdf downloadable, printable file.
