I taught for 30 years at nearly every grade level. I'm certified in language arts grades 6-12 and deaf/hard of hearing (d/hh) grades K-12. I taught English as a Second Language in Japan; parent/infant and preschool deaf/hard of hearing; resource room for deaf/hard of hearing grades K-6; and for the past 15 years self-contained deaf/hard of hearing grades 5-6. In 2000 I received National Board Certification in the category: Exceptional Needs: K-Young Adult. In retirement I and a partner founded Jack Apps Education, www.jackappseducation.com, to create apps and printables for diverse language learners. I write articles for Supporting Success for Students with Hearing Loss. I am volunteer teaching English as a Second Language for recent immigrants to Minnesota.
