Ancient Egypt Activity Pack - VA SOL Aligned
About This Product
This is a pack of activities for a unit on Ancient Egypt. It isn't limited to social studies activities, but has two passages, a math activity, a craft, and a fun activity relating emojis to hieroglyphics. Passages and activities are geared towards a 3rd-grade level. The product is written following the VA SOL 3rd Grade Social Studies standards. All of these activities (except for the KWL and craft) are also available digitally. Simply click the link in the pdf to open a copy as a google slide. That can then be opened in google, in powerpoint, or keynote.
Included in this pack:
"Artifacts" Anticipatory Set slides (can also be printed as post-cards) - this is an excellent review and anticipatory set
Ancient Egypt Know/Want to Know chart (my take on a KWL, it's just the know and want to know sections)
How Were the Pyramids Built? Reading Passage and Questions (written on a 3rd grade reading level)
Sundial Elapsed Time Activity (this corresponds to VA Math SOL 3.9, and includes word problems finding the elapsed time to the nearest hour)
The Nile River Reading Passage and Questions (written on a 3rd grade reading level)
Egypt Vocabulary Quiz
Emoji Hieroglyphics
Egyptian Headdress craft
