About This Product

Young students as old as preschool age start to put others in categories. This can lead to cliques and exclusion. This deck has a voice-over on every card so even the youngest student can learn the harmful effects of exclusion. In this deck, students will read (or listen) to a story about Betsy the Top Banana. She is a leader of a banana clique. Students will learn how a banana stood up to Betsy and everyone began playing with a variety of fruits. Then students will play a 23 task card series about what is including and what is excluding. This is a perfect activity to discuss the aspect of cliques, the inclusion of all races and ethnicities, the harmful aspect of excluding others, and being accepting of everyone. This is for the younger grades. Students are prompted to draw a picture in the end about how they can include others. An extension activity is included. Simply download the PDF and you will be directed to Boom Learning.
