Early Explorers Booklet: Francisco Coronado

Early Explorers Booklet: Francisco Coronado Students will research and create an informational booklet on Francisco Coronado, an early Spanish explorer of what is now the southwestern United States. This teaching resource guides learners to compile research, draft, revise, edit, and publish a nonfiction booklet report. It includes materials to scaffold the writing process: research report templates for outlining and drafting, revising/editing checklists for self and peer review, and formal publishing paper for the final piece. Educators can utilize this well-rounded activity to build nonfiction literacy skills in the context of early American history with either individuals or groups in upper elementary grades.
