About This Product

The components of a whole or group of items are represented by fractions. There are two components to a fraction. The numerator is the number at the top of the line. It indicates the number of equal portions picked from the entire collection. The denominator is the number that is below the line. It displays the total number of identical items in a collection or the total number of equal portions into which the whole is divided. The number of pieces we take is a fraction when the total is divided into equal parts. A cake is considered to have 1/8 of the cake on each dish if it is cut into eight equal pieces and one piece is put on each plate. It is read as ‘one-eighth’ or ‘1 by 8’.
