French Halloween Number Game – “Qui a pris, a pris” Numbers 0–30

About This Product

🇫🇷 French Halloween Number Game – “J’ai… Qui a… ?”

Qui a pris, a pris

Numbers and Number Words 0–30

This printable game is a Halloween-themed version of “I Have, Who Has?” designed to practice French numbers from 0 to 30. I like to use it in October with beginner classes, because it combines language practice with a familiar game structure that doesn’t need much explanation. Students pick it up quickly, and the seasonal design adds a small festive touch without being distracting.

There are two different versions included, for a total of 72 cards. One set shows the numbers written in full, while the second set breaks the words into syllables. The syllable cards are useful for younger students or those who are just starting to read in French. Longer words like dix-sept or vingt-trois are easier to manage when broken down, and students feel more confident saying them aloud.

The game can be adjusted depending on level. You don’t have to use all the cards at once. I often start with 0–10 for absolute beginners, then expand to 0–20, and later to the full 0–30. That way, the activity can be reused several times as students progress.

The rules are simple. Each student receives one or more cards. The game begins with a student saying: “J’ai zéro. Qui a un ?” The next student responds with their card, and the chain continues until the last number is reached. Because everyone has to listen carefully, the game supports both vocabulary practice and listening skills. It also encourages students to speak in full sentences, which is a nice bonus.

I have used this activity in whole-class lessons, in small groups, and even as a center task for early finishers. It doesn’t require much prep: print the cards, cut them apart, and laminate if you want them to last longer. Once ready, they can be stored in a small envelope and brought out again year after year.

This game works well in French immersion programs, world language classrooms, or bilingual settings. It supports number recognition, pronunciation, and cooperative play, while bringing a light Halloween theme into your lessons.
