Bucket Filler or Bucket Dipper – Kindness Poster

Positive examples emphasize listening, kindness, turn-taking, manners, helping, and cleanup. The contrasting column shows disrespectful, hurtful, or disruptive choices so learners can compare their social impact. Teachers can use the poster to discuss behaviour without labeling children themselves as fillers or dippers. The concrete action language supports classroom expectations, reflection, and restorative conversation. The paired layout makes alternative choices easy to discuss side by side.

About this resource

After reading How Full Is Your Bucket-for kids by Tom Nath, you can post this 8.5 X 11 inch poster in the classroom or school counseling office. You can also send this home for students to share with their family members and use as a reference for practicing kindness. This is great for grades pre-K, kindergarten, first, second and third grades. The story is about how to fill others' buckets and our own buckets by being kind to others.
