Included in this lesson is a 9 day unit plan, instructions for all the experiments and activities, and packet for a crime scene investigation. Over the next several days you will ask questions, compose experiments testing the cola from the crime scene for poison with litmus juice, dusting for finger prints, analyzing handwriting and more. We concluded our CSI by drafting a composite sketch of who we thought the culprit was, serving the culprit with an arrest warrant and reading her/him their Miranda Rights. Students will love solving the mystery of Sally Scarecrow! This is a great back to school or end of the year activity . There is not a better or more applicable way to teach students about the Scientific Method. The report portion of the packet can be used as the assessment component of the unit and includes a rubric. There are 4 topics; snacks, sports, summer activities, and music genres. There is a blank one and all templates are fully editable as this is a Google Slides Presentation. You will download the PDF and click on the image and this will prompt you to "Make a copy", and you will click "Yes". This is great for a back-to-school activity , a brain break for your class, or an icebreaker when you have a new group of students or a new group for advisory. This really is for multiple ages-even adults-even staff meetings! Homework Activity The initial activity encourages learners to locate various liquid storing containers from their home environments. These containers should have labels indicating volume held in liters (l) or milliliters (ml). They should find three different sizes: A container roughly one liter, About half a liter (or nearly 500 milliliters), An item notably smaller than half a liter. This helps students comprehend the real-world applications of understanding volume by using everyday items. In-Class Worksheet Activity In the follow-up exercise, teachers will present students with an array of emptied and labeled containers (A through F), some brought from home.
