What do you need to play: * One of the gameboards * A die * Something to mark the inner spaces with * A player piece to move around the edge of the board This game can be a single player or a two player game. To play, students will need one gameboard, one die, 20 objects to mark the inner part of the game board, and a game piece for each student playing. First, a student will roll the die and move his game piece around the outside of the board. The student will then cover the corresponding picture in the middle of the game board. The winner or end of game can be determined by one of the following rules below, depending on if the student is playing alone or with a partner. There are 2 pages for each number – The main worksheet and a page with puzzle pieces that need to be cut out and pasted on the worksheet. Each student will need a copy of both pages. There is also a “Back of Puzzle Pieces” page. This needs to be printed on the reverse side of all puzzle pieces pages. There are 2 printing options – colour or black and white You can also mix and match the colour and black and white pages. For example, you could print only the puzzle pieces in colour and the worksheet in black and white if you wish. How to Use This Resource: Cut apart all the cards. Then lightly glue each back to a front. Run through a laminator and then cut apart each pieces. Lay pieces flat and upside down. Take turns with your students to turn over 2 at a time. When you find a match, you get to keep the match. When all the cards have been turned over and matched up, then the game is over. The winner is the one who has found the most matches. Not only do these cards feature pictures of Mesozoic creatures, but they also have the corresponding word printed underneath each picture. They will get to work their brains to try and remember where they saw a certain image, but they will also be able to retrieve where they saw a certain word.
