The holiday season is always a great time to celebrate cheer and spread love. In our classrooms, we get the great opportunity to celebrate many of these holidays with our students. Christmas is one of those holidays. It is a great time to learn about the holiday, enjoy it together, and incorporate some learning along the way. If your young learners need additional practice with reading skills, this Mooseltoe Activity Pack will do the trick. You will receive a PDF and an editable PowerPoint. With this story, the students will be completing two activities. Pages 3 and 4 go together as a retell/sequencing activity . You will copy page 3 for every student, but you will make fewer copies of page 4 as each student will only receive one row of pictures. Students will color both pages. On page 4, you can see the areas that need to be cut out and glued onto page 3 in the correct order. For page 5, students will be filling in the problem and solution of the story. I hope you enjoy! This beginning sound sort is a great hands on activity for recognizing the most common sound of each letter of the alphabet. This is an easy and fun activity to give students who need practice with recognizing the beginning sound of each letter from amongst other letter sounds or for those students who need extra practice distinguishing between the initial sounds in words. To complete this sorting activity , students will look at the pictures inside the gingerbread house and place the correct gingerbread man next to the item according to that picture's beginning sound. This sorting activity includes 12 pages that contains There are ten gingerbread man mats with four pictures each for students to identify the beginning sounds in each picture. There are 52 gingerbread men cards for students to match with the pictures. The gingerbread cards have each letter in the alphabet in both capital letters and lowercase letters.
