Fraction Word Problems Digital Escape Room

Fraction Word Problems Digital Escape Room
Math, Fractions, Winter, Seasons, Holiday & Seasonal, Grade 5, 6, 7, Escape Room, Activities, Worksheets & Printables, Word Problems, Worksheets

Fraction problems on paper usually go over like a, well, snowball with your students; but this Winter Digital Escape Room changes that right away! Instead of plowing through problems on a page, students find themselves right in the middle of a wintery story in which their math smarts make all the difference. Their task? Unfreeze the Frostbite Festival with fraction problems embedded in four story scenarios. Students solve twenty fraction problems involving adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. With each correct solution giving the student a further piece of the puzzle and therefore the incentive to take their time and think before responding, this activity strongly encourages the student to take their time and think before responding. This activity also helps the student work independently without the need for constant checks by the teacher since the activity is entirely self-checking. The advantage: flexibility to perform calculations as improper fractions or as mixed numbers. This eliminates unnecessary frustration and “but my answer is right too” arguments among students. Then there is the autosave feature that allows students to save their work midway through the lesson, as long as they are on the same computer or accessing the page on the same web browser. There are also four winter-themed scenarios to keep things new and interesting throughout. Students will move around different activity cards of Snack Shack, Skating Trail, Yeti Workshop, and Penguin Performance. It is completely engaging and provides meaning without being distracting, which is exactly what you need when you are in the review session. This resource is the real deal in the realm of ‘no prep’ products. There is no account that needs to be set up, no passwords, and no complex installation. You simply share the link from Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, or whatever platform you use, and the kids can start working. It is completely seamless from the perspective of the users, including chromebooks, laptops, desktops, and tablets. In instances when you would prefer paper options or if you desire to reuse the problems in another manner, a complete printable version is also included. You'll get a worksheet with all the problems, a set of task cards to match the problems, and an answer key. Clear directions for both teachers and students are provided, and all can see exactly what the activity entails. Topics covered for both math and reading consist of all four fraction operations with unlike denominators and real-world fraction word problems. If you are searching for a winter fractions review that is engaging, organized, and easy to facilitate, this digital escape room meets every requirement and your students will want to solve it.

Watercolor Backgrounds – 10 Designs for Teaching Materials and Creative Projects (A4 Format) PNG + PDF Over the years, I’ve realized how much a soft and thoughtfully chosen background can influence the overall tone of a worksheet, project, or presentation. Especially when working with younger learners—or just trying to break away from the usual black-and-white documents—a watercolor-style background can make materials feel calmer, more inviting, and a little more special. This set includes 10 hand-designed watercolor backgrounds , all created by me in Procreate. They’re simple, versatile, and gentle in color, making them easy to combine with your own content—whether you're designing a worksheet, setting up a presentation, or putting together printable materials like task cards or signs. Each background comes in two formats : – PNG (with transparent or clean edges – ideal for digital work) – PDF (quick and ready to print) What you can use them for: – Designing worksheets or templates for student work – Presentation slides (PowerPoint, Keynote, Canva...) – Game cards or instruction sets – Greeting cards or classroom posters – Backdrops for reflection or writing pages – And much more I’ve personally used them for everything from laminated instructions at learning centers to cover pages for student portfolios. The soft watercolor look adds warmth without being distracting—and pairs well with both playful and more serious content. Usage notes: These backgrounds are available for private and classroom use , and you may also use them commercially within the educational field (e.g. in your own teaching materials), as long as your own content is clearly visible and credit is given (by naming me as the creator or linking to my store). Please don’t resell or distribute the files as standalone images. Have fun using these designs to give your materials a personal and creative touch. – Heike from @Lernfitness Did You Know? 67 Meme Winter Christmas Solving One Step Equations Pixel Art

67 Meme Winter Christmas Solving One Step Equations Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Algebra, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities

If "67" has taken over your classroom talk, now is the perfect opportunity to turn it into something useful. This Christmas one step equation pixel art task is riding off the back of the viral trend "67" and giving it a purposeful spin. Rather than seeing a math problem pop up, students see a task with an end goal, something they are curious about completing right away. Students complete twenty equations with one-step solutions for both positive and negative integers. The exercises involve all basic arithmetic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division so that the pupils get excellent practice without overwhelming them. Every time the child gives the correct answer to the equation, a part of a puzzle with a winter scenery will be revealed to the child, and in the end, the well-known number 67 will be visible in winter colors. The digital version is completely self-checking, providing immediate feedback to the student as they complete questions. Incorrect math problems will not be revealed by the picture, prompting the student to take another look and complete the problem again. I find this feature to give the student instant feedback and to give you time to assist other students as they complete independent practice activities. To offer further flexibility, printable versions are provided as choices. These same twenty equations can be found in a worksheet form, making it simple to assign for homework or in-class work without technology. You will also see a complete toolbox of printable task cards, great for centers, group work, or a scuttlebutt rotation. A complete answer key is provided for easy assessment or review by students. This activity is perfect when done in December, when children tend to be especially energetic and have a hard time sitting still. It’s exciting enough to be seasonal and entertaining, yet formalized enough to provide actual value in improving their expertise. It’s also a great go-to activity in case of an emergency sub plan with no prep work involved. The skills that have been reinforced are the following: performing operations on one-step equations involving all four operations and developing fluency with positive and negative integers. Students are getting repetition without boredom and feedback without frustration. If you want to bring a little bit of Christmas spirit into the mathematics portion of your day while still focusing on the teaching and the learning, the Winter 67 Pixel Art provides the perfect remedy. This is easy to assign and administer, and it is impossible to ignore, in the best possible way.

Transition Element Flashcards – Chemistry Symbol and Name Matching Set

Transition Element Flashcards – Chemistry Symbol and Name Matching Set

Transition & Inner‑Transition Elements Flashcards – Chemistry Symbol and Name Matching Set Holiday Theme: Christmas This is a printable flashcard set I’ve used in chemistry classes, mostly with upper secondary students. The cards focus on the transition and inner transition elements. So we’re talking about the d-block and f-block – the ones students often find harder to remember, especially when they all start sounding similar. I usually bring this out in December when we’re still covering content but everyone’s a bit tired and ready for a change of pace. The cards have either the element’s name or its symbol. Students have to match the two, and they can do that in pairs or small groups. It works like a memory game or just a straight matching activity, depending on how much time we have. Some years I use the cards just for review, other times we build sorting activities around them. Like dividing the metals into transition, lanthanides and actinides. It depends on the group. Advanced students sometimes add a use or a property for each element as they go, which makes it more of a challenge. There are a lot of cards – over 250 – but I don’t always use them all. You can just print the ones you need. I usually go with thicker paper or cardstock, and if I have time, I laminate them so they last. Once cut, I keep them in envelopes and reuse them next year. The design has a winter look – nothing too bright or distracting, just something that makes it feel a bit more seasonal without being silly. I’ve found it helpful for lessons when you still want students to work with real content, but in a way that feels relaxed. Especially useful before the holidays or at the end of a topic on metals. Everything’s in the file – all cards and a short page with tips. It’s been a helpful tool in my December lessons. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know? Linear vs Nonlinear Functions Pixel Art

Linear vs Nonlinear Functions Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Algebra, Grade 7, 8, 9, Worksheets & Printables, Activities

Distinguishing linear from nonlinear functions doesn’t have to be stressful and boring for you or for your students. This winter-themed pixel art activity transforms the task of identifying functions from being stressful and boring activities that bore students silly for you and your students. This is because for a long time, the task has involved hurrying through the activity on a sheet or making educated guesses about examples. There are twenty problems where students decide if the function is linear or nonlinear based on graphs, equations, and tables. This variety in representation serves its purpose. Rather than learning one concept and applying it throughout to ensure it works this way too, students make connections between different forms of the same thing. Each time the student gets it right, another section of the winter pixel art appears. When an answer is put in that’s incorrect, nothing unlocks to solve it; this forces students to go back and try again. This is completely self-correcting in the most positive way possible—with no penalty to be suffered by understanding something anew. There is nothing to prepare for this activity. You won’t have to set anything up, explain complicated instructions, or prepare anything else. Just put the digital version of this activity out, and the students can get started. It is perfect for a day when you have small groups while you are instructing, and you have the remainder of the class productively busy. You also have access to an accompanying worksheet that is printable so that you have options when technology is not an option or if you are wanting to do an assessment or review on paper. There is an answer key that you or your students are able to use if you choose to grade it quickly. Teachers especially appreciate the versatility of this activity. It can be used for class review or for independent practice. It can be used on the computer and worked on as a class, used for a quick assessment, completed for homework, or kept on file for sub plans. Early finishers can get right into the activity without further instruction, and struggling students will get immediate feedback to help them correct their mistakes. The students examine each function to determine if it is linear or nonlinear and quickly see the effect of this determination. This provides instantaneous feedback to give them confidence and conviction to move the process along. If you are trying to find a winter math activity that will reinforce an essential concept while not adding any prep or grading work to your plate and can do multiple formats, this pixel art assignment fits the bill. It is well-organized and fun to do; exactly what busy classrooms need.

67 Meme Winter Order of Operations Pixel Art

67 Meme Winter Order of Operations Pixel Art
Math, Holiday & Seasonal, Holidays, Christmas, Winter, Seasons, Geometry, Graphing, Grade 5, 6, 7, 8, Worksheets & Printables, Activities

If your kids just won’t stop talking about “67,” you might as well find a use for it. This winter-themed pixel art math center involving the order of operations takes the 67 fixation and turns it into something even better than just solving for 67: something the kids will really care to see the answer to. The concept is easy and fun. Students can complete twenty order of operations problems, which involve the use of parentheses but no exponentials. This is just the activity for reinforcing the concept. A correct answer reveals the next piece of a hidden winter scene. As the image develops, the characteristic number 67 is exposed in winter colors. This assignment is completely digital and automatically Self-Checking. Students get immediate feedback this way. If the student puts an incorrect answer down, the image will not reveal their mistake and will encourage the student to look at what they have done and try again. Your assignment will teach the student to not ask how their work looks or whether or not something is right. For an element of flexibility, printable versions have been included too. These same twenty problems can be accessed as a worksheet, so assigning these to be completed as homework is easy. There is also a complete set of math problem cards that are printable. These math problem cards are excellent to be used when engaging in math centers or scoot. Whatever way of teaching you choose to utilize, whether digital, physically, or a combination of these, this resource will go smoothly. There is also a complete answer key. This activity is particularly well-suited for December and January, when students' attention and motivational levels may be low. This activity is engaging for note-taking, organized for review days, and safe to keep on hand for emergency substitute teaching. Also, because everything is already established, little to no prep is required. Just pass out the link, and students can dive right in. No locks need to be set up, no clues need to be placed, and no sign-ins to a website are necessary. Everything happens entirely on line. Skills taught are evaluating multi-step expressions, using the order of operations when there are parentheses, and learning to compute precisely in a low-stakes, high-interest manner. If you are looking to capture the 67 trend with your class while building key math concepts, this pixel art activity this winter season offers exactly what you are looking for: a perfect combination of rigor, fun, and simplicity. Your class will be enthralled, and you will have an excellent, no-prep teaching tool to use all year long.

Kids get to color sweet, flower-themed pages first (because crayons are magic), and then cut out their masterpieces. Yep, it’s two activities in one, and somehow, it keeps those little hands busy longer than you'd expect. Plus, it helps strengthen their scissor skills without anyone realizing they’re doing actual work. Win-win. How to Use It: ✔️ Morning warm-up : Something calm before the chaos. ✔️ Spring craft stations : A seasonal hit that looks adorable on bulletin boards. ✔️ Scissor practice : Because we’re not cutting spaghetti with hands anymore. ✔️ Creative free time : Keeps things hands-on, not screen-on. ✔️ Early finisher task : For those speedsters who are “done already.” Why It Works: 🌸 Helps build focus and fine motor skills 🌸 Super easy to prep (just print!) 🌸 Encourages independence 🌸 Adds a little color to everyone’s day Let them color. Let them cut. Let your sanity stay (mostly) intact. Pdf file includes 10 pages.

Chemistry Element Symbol Game – Visual Matching Cards: Christmas Theme

Chemistry Element Symbol Game – Visual Matching Cards: Christmas Theme

Chemistry Element Symbol Game – Visual Matching Cards (Christmas Theme) This is a chemistry card game I’ve used in class when we need something more hands-on but still connected to what we’re learning. It works kind of like “Dobble” or “Spot it!”, where you have to find the symbol that two cards have in common. In this case, the cards show element symbols from the first 31 main group elements. No names, just symbols – so it only works if students already know some of them. I usually bring this out in December, when the mood in class is a bit more relaxed but we’re still doing chemistry. The game moves quickly, and students enjoy it once they understand the rules. It doesn’t need any extra materials beyond the cards. Just print them, cut them out, and you’re good to go. There are 93 cards in total, with the same content but in three different shapes: round, square, and hexagon. I printed the square version because it’s easiest to cut, but the round cards look nice too. If you want to keep them for next year, laminating helps. I use it as a warm-up or at a station, sometimes even as a competition in small groups. The best part is that students have to look closely at the symbols and make quick decisions. It really helps with recognition. Some classes get quite into it, and others play more calmly – both work. You can also combine it with coloring beforehand. For example, color all Group 1 elements the same – that makes sorting and grouping easier later. It’s not a complex game, but it keeps the focus on the element symbols without turning it into a test. That’s what I wanted when I made it – something simple that still helps them practise. All the cards are included in the file, plus a short page with how to use them. 📍 Happy teaching, Heike from Lernfitness Did You Know?
