Each card also includes a bold and colorful image to illustrate each sentence and to help students to learn the meanings of each word. What is Included: This resource includes one reading ring for the prefix anti. There are seven cards each featuring a different word with the prefix anti. The words included in this set are: antisocial, antibacterial, antibiotics, antibodies, antifreeze, anticlimactic, and antivenom. When to Use Early Finishers - If students finish their work early, they can use these reading rings for extra practice. Small Group Work - Teachers can use these reading rings to target small groups of students who need more practice reading words with prefixes. This is an Intro to Systems of Equations Introduction Activity that your high school students will love. This is an activity designed for 9th – 10th grade students. It is a cooperative partner activity. Purpose of the lesson: For students to see that a system of equations involves two equations with 2 variables and that the solution is when the values of the variables in one equation “match” the values in the other equation. For students to see multiple representations of systems (table, graph, equations) and for them to see how the solution shows up in each representation. For students to see systems of equations in a concrete, relatable way (dropping chips in a cup) before moving to the abstract (equations without context). The activity provides a low entry point for all students to engage and increases in rigor as the lesson progresses. This PowerPoint will begin with a Do Now that will set the foundation for the activity. Students will be posed with 2 essential questions, that serve as the objectives for them. Each slide provides steps for students to complete as well as a time limit for completion. This is an editable presentation, so you will be able to tweak times to fit your students’ needs. This activity has a summer theme. This sorting activity is suitable for preschool and kindergarten students who are learning to recognize the letter L and to distinguish between capital and lowercase letters. Students can work independently or in pairs to sort each letter to the correct mat. Use loop and hook fasteners (if desired) to place the cards on the correct sorting mat. * Baking Tray Game - Place the mats side by side on a baking tray. Place magnets on the back of the cards so they stick to the mats on the cookie sheet when sorted. This sorting activity is low prep. The teacher needs to print out the mats and card pages. The card pages need to be cut out so students can sort them. The pages can be laminated if desired so that this sorting activity can be used over and over.

Whether you are a science teacher, a social studies teacher, or even a math teacher, one thing is for certain. We are all reading teachers! Within every subject, texts are involved. Our students are always tasked with reading. Even in math, students are reading instructions, word problems and so forth. If you’ve never thought about starting a book club in your classroom, here’s your sign! This is a Book Club, but with a twist! Within this presentation, you’ll have everything you need to effortlessly implement a book club with your students. Here is an introduction for students: What you need to know: You and your group will have to decide how you will split the novel up into 6 sections You will need to decide which role each of your will begin with Each week, your role will change, so by the end of the book, you will have had a chance to try each role You will be submitting the work you complete for each role Your peers will be assessing your participation each meeting I will be popping into your meetings to listen in for funzies You will meet with your group once a week, every Friday There are 7 different groups in the presentation. There are 4 different roles included: 1. Host or Leader 2. Cruciverbalist 3. Conspiracy Theorist 4. Section Critic Each role will be described in detail.
