This fun frame activity is perfect for teaching 3rd graders the concept of quadrilaterals. It would also be great as a review for 4th graders. Quadrilaterals can be a difficult concept for students to grasp. This fun activity helps students differentiate the attributes of different shapes. Students will use the frame to put shapes in different categories. Those categories are shapes that 4 right angles, shapes where the opposite sides have an equal length, shapes where the opposite sides are parallel, and shapes that have 4 equal sides. There also is a spot for students to show the shape that doesn't fit any of the attributes. There are two options for completing this activity. Students could cut out the given shapes and glue them in the correct section of the frame. Or, you could have students draw the shapes themselves. This can be more difficult with younger students. My example would help you see how it could be completed.

Genericbury City Election Activity Teacher Guide: Goal Statement: Students will be able to analyze how candidates respond to the needs and wishes of the community in order to become more electable, in order to better understand the relationship between representatives and their voters. 2 to 4 50 Minute Class Periods In this activity , students are wrestling with what it means to be “electable”. They will create a candidate to run against others. This can be assigned as a group assignment (so that 3 or 4 candidates are running against each other in each class), a class assignment (so that each class is constructing one candidate together to run against other sections of the class), or individually (so that each student has the ability to create their own candidate). There are countless extension activities you can do, from holding debates to having the class vote for a candidate other than their own to see who was most convincing. You can also lean into potential “holes” in candidates. For instance, if one group made their candidate a millionaire, maybe that candidate is “out of touch” with regular citizens. If another group made a candidate with 8 kids, maybe they “simply won’t have the time to govern”. There are a handful of sections students will move through. You can provide the candidate packet to students/groups as a digital file or in printed form: 1. Candidate Name 2. Candidate Appearance 3. Candidate Background and Resume 4. Candidate Slogan 5. Sight Words Fluency Learning Game for Fry's 3rd 100 Words This sight word learning game helps students build reading fluency with Fry's 3rd 100 high frequency words. To play, laminated word cards are scattered around. Students take turns using fly swatters to quickly locate and cover target words called out by the teacher. The first student to successfully "swat" the target word wins the card. This engaging multi-sensory game can be played competitively in teams or partners for a fun way to repeatedly encounter, read, and recognize essential early reading vocabulary. It's perfect for literacy centers , small reading groups, or even whole class review. Modify the difficulty level by changing the word lists over time as students progressed.
