If you want to give students extra practice with word families, I have just the resource for you. This activity is perfect for students who are struggling with adding letters to the beginning of word families. This will help them practice and improve their skills. This is a Word Family Fun Packet for ight, ing, ip, and it. The first page consists of all letters of the alphabet to be printed off for students to cut apart. On the following pages, you will have the word families – 2 per page. Students will have space to make 4 words per each word family. You can print and laminate these. If you choose to laminate them, you will be able to attach Velcro dots to the alphabet letters so students can match them up. A 1-page worksheet is included for students to add letters to the beginning of the word families in the same way that they have on the boards. You may choose to have students complete this independently. It also works great as a small group activity. Students could create groups of 4 and each person is responsible for 1 word family. An answer key is included.
