Slopes Worksheet: Draw and Read Slopes
, Grade 6, 7, 8, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
Practice drawing slopes and finding slopes from an existing graph! This worksheet is primarily targeted to 7th grade math students, but it is suitable for anyone who needs practice with the concept of slope, like advanced 6th grade students or 8th grade students that need strengthening of this concept. This can be also used as extra material with physics studies, if needed. The special thing with this worksheet is that the graphs are scaled differently, so students really need to focus on what they are doing. The scales of horizontal x-axis are from 0 to 10, but the scales of the vertical y-axis vary from 0…2 to 0…140. Many of the scales are between 0…10 to 0…60. First 5 pages are about finding the slopes from existing graphs and the next five are about graphing the slopes. In this worksheet, we always assume that the y-intercept is 0, to keep things simple and to focus on slopes on coordinate planes. Some of the slopes are whole numbers, some are fractions and some are mixed numbers. The scaling and the slopes are designed so that students should be able to find a right rational number without confusion. The coordinate planes have grids to make things easier. This pdf is at its best as a paper copy, but you can use the five first pages without printing them. All answers are included.

Niels Bohr – A Look at One of the Founders of Atomic Theory Informational Text, Student Tasks, and Interactive Quiz (PDF + H5P) 🧪🔬 A ready-to-use classroom resource for grades 7–10 🧪 This material introduces students to Niels Bohr and his ideas about the atom – ideas that still shape how we teach atomic structure today. The text is short and easy to follow, so it works well for younger students or for those who are just starting to learn about atomic models. I’ve used this kind of format when I needed a quick but meaningful activity – for example, during a unit on atomic theory or as part of a lesson on scientists and their discoveries. It’s also been useful in cover lessons, especially when someone without a science background had to step in. Everything is included and explained clearly. What’s in the file: A short reading text about Niels Bohr A profile worksheet for students to fill out Quiz questions with an answer key Two optional tasks: – Students write their own questions – Students answer a partner’s questions You get everything as a printable PDF, a modifiable .docx file (text only), and a simple H5P version for use in digital learning systems How you might use it: Students can read the text alone or in pairs. They then fill in the profile and answer the quiz questions. If there’s still time, they can come up with their own questions about the text and swap them with a classmate. The H5P version is helpful if your students are working online or if you want them to check their answers themselves. It’s a flexible resource that doesn’t need a lot of explanation – and works just as well in regular science lessons as in emergency planning. Have fun exploring the world of science with your students! Warmly, Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we focus on creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.

Financial Literacy: Compound Interest
Life Studies, Math, Decimals, Money, Finance, Home Economics, Business, Grade 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, Worksheets & Printables, Word Problems, Activities
This high school financial literacy lesson will show students why compound interest is so helpful to investors! The first page walks students through how to calculate compound interest step-by-step (year-by-year). Students need a basic understanding of writing percent as a decimal and multiplying to find the "percent of" a number. Students will be given an initial investment and a yearly interest rate. Each student in the class can have different values so they have to do their own work and so comparisons can be made. This allows for easy differentiation as well- give students who are struggling an easier interest rate (10%, 1%) and students who need a challenge a trickier one (6%, 4.5%) Students carefully calculate the amount of compound interest they would earn over ten years. They check their work using the compound interest formula. Then they can use the formula to calculate compound interest for longer periods of time. Your class can compare their results. I would recommend having a class discussion (prompt questions are included). Make sure to point out how compound interest is great for investing and saving and terrible for borrowing money. It works against you when you have a loan. Finally, students reflect on their learning by writing a paragraph after the lesson, and hopefully leave class wanting to start a saving account! This step-by-step lesson clearly shows students how compound interest works. They get practice doing calculations with precents written as decimals, exponents, and order of operations. It is the kind of math lesson that will stay with students long after the year is complete! Also check out my Financial Literacy Interest Rates: Lending and Borrowing Money Lesson!
