The words in this set follow a CVC or CCVC spelling pattern. Included in this resource: This resource includes one word mat and one sentence mat, both for reading UM words in insolation and in context. There are also picture cards that correspond with each word and sentence. To complete this activity, students will read each UG word or sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner to complete this activity. How to Use these UM word Family Mats: The students can simply lay the images on top of the word or sentence. They can be placed in a file folder utilizing hook and loop fasteners to attach the images. A magnetic activity can be created by using a baking sheet and magnets to affix the images. Students will love the hands-on nature of this activity.
