Long and Short E: Quiz Game Sample Game Note: This download is in PowerPoint show mode to protect the rights of the image creator(s), and is thus UNEDITABLE. Playing the Game Note 1: Upon opening you will come across a password prompt. Press 'read only'. Note 2: You may need to allow ActiveX controls to use the scoreboard. The game starts will the front screen. Press the arrow in the bottom right to move onto round 1 - short E. There are ten questions in each round, click on one of these buttons to go to that question. There are a mix of options and marks available. Click on the correct answer. Incorrect answers will go dim. Correct answers will flash, all the incorrect answers will dim, small picture will appear. At this point if you are using the scoreboard, click on scores. You can edit any of the boxes and don't need to leave slideshow to edit it - the team names and scores. Simply input using keyboard. You can't save this to use another time in the future but you can use it for as long as the PPT is open. From there you can go to Round 1 or 2 by clicking on the buttons at the bottom. Upon returning to the question screen, any questions already answered will be blank (ie. no text) so you can keep track of those answered. Once you finish round 1 the button for round 2 is on the round 1 question board or alternatively from the scoreboard. With a round dedicated to both short and long E, students will practice reading phonics words while enjoying themselves at the same time. Social stories use a patient and reassuring tone to teach children about social situations in a way that can be easily understood. Social stories are particularly useful for children on the autistic spectrum for whom social cues can be challenging and who often suffer anxiety if they do not know what to expect from a situation however social stories can also be useful for any child who is struggling to understand a situation or concept or needs help to understand a social skill or social cue, expectations, perspectives, common responses or is troubled about an upcoming event. This social story is to support children with a tendency to scream loudly in times of high emotion. This is Collection 2 of 15 free Easy Phonics Poems. Like the 15 free phonics poems in Collection 1, this set uses good rhythm and rhyme to make learning to read a fun, positive experience. Collection 2 of the easy phonics poems is for early readers, or struggling readers in 2nd (or higher) grade. The phonics poems are slightly harder than Collection 1 with longer sentences and more long-vowel words. The phonics poems emphasize word families, decodable words, and high-frequency words. The fun clipart supports the theme of the poem. The words have a nice flow – no awkward stumbling caused by a poor attempt to get words to rhyme. The sentences make sense. These easy phonics poems can be used as an emergent reader alternative. Create jpegs of the phonics poems to display on a white board, or send to a student’s digital reading device. Bakery Patterns Center with Sweet Trears

Get students engaged with copying and continuing patterns with these bakery themed patterning cards. This set of cards words with AB, AAB, ABB, and AABB patterns. The baker theme will entice students to want to do this activity over and over! What is Included: This packet includes none copying and continuing the pattern cards with a bakery theme. There are also ball cards students can use to copy and complete each pattern. How to Use: Students will choose one of the patterning cards available. They will then use the ball cards to copy the pattern on the card and then they will continue the pattern out until all the winter pieces are used. Students may also use the winter cards to create their own unique patterns. When to Use: Math Center - Place the pattern cards and ball cards in a math center for students to work alone or with a partner to copy and complete each pattern. Morning Activity - The teacher can place the cards into a morning tub or bin for students to complete while waiting on their classmates to arrive to class. Quiet time Activity - Particularly used in a preschool room, these cards make a great quiet activity to provide for non-nappers. Small Group Activity - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra help identifying, copying, and continuing patterns to use these cards. Skills Assessed Students will demonstrate the ability to copy a pattern as well as the ability to continue that pattern. The low prep nature of this center allows teachers to easily get this activity ready for student use. Simply print and cut the cards apart to place them in the desired classroom location. The cards can easily be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage.

This practice set is a real hit! First of all, get two vocabulary lists that feature all of the words from this set. And there are two of them. You can decide to use the ones with sharp corners or rounded corners. Games to play could be memory for example. There is also a digital file that can be used to introduce these words. Just launch the PDF file on a computer and flick through the pages. Usually students find this more engaging then the printed out cards. If you really want to have some fun, play the BINGO game.
