Games are being recognized as very powerful educational tool. In this case Place Value Math Game is a mental and physical activity that favors the development of children in an integral and harmonious way. Playing will offer children thousands of possibilities to achieve their development such as investigating, creating, having fun, discovering, fantasizing or getting excited. Thanks to these actions, the child manages to come into contact with the world in a satisfactory way. The practice of these activities will show them to learn without realizing it. The best way to teach the concepts to your students is through play. We give you some ideas and excellent tricks for you to achieve it. Learning a second language... has never been so much fun! Learn and Practice Hygiene in Spanish with Interactive Games; in this particular case, “Memory Game” which produces numerous benefits in your students, beyond the entertainment they provide for them. There is a varied catalog of proposals for activities to work at school or home. Memory games occupy a special place on this list of ideas. And, in addition, they produce numerous benefits. They have a simple format, since the essential objective of this experience is to promote memorization, recognition, identification and classification of information. This type of activity is available in traditional format and also digital. These games have a specific theme, for example, letters, images or numbers. Thus, they have educational value. Analyzing the benefits and opportunities of these activities are: 1st Empowers the visual memory, 2nd Exercises the short-term memory, 3rd Establishes relationships and connections in the brain, 4th Externalizes maximum concentration, 5th Increases brain activity , 6th Collaborates with the process of cognitive abilities, and 7th Activates the emotional intelligence of your students. Instructions for the Place Value Game to be use in your classroom or the gymnasium as a whole group activity . 1. Print the entire following material (twice = for 2 Teams) preferably on 8.5 "x 11"Cardstock and cut the cards on the dotted lines. Laminate for durability. Paste page 1 on the front of an envelope as a cover and store the remaining material inside; keep it in a visible and safe place to play often. 2. When playing, place cards with the names of the place value on the board following the visual example below, so that children see the place value for each of their teams and where they shall be placed themselves when they are actually playing. Try and practice before scoring and starting the game. 3. Take the cards with numbers and place them (facing the numbers) on two tables or the floor, a bit away from the board. Make sure to separate the groups from each other. Verify that each team has (Red numbers 0-9, blue 0-9, green 0-9 and yellow 0-9) check that all cards are visible and in disarray. 4. Make two (2) teams and ask the members of each team to place themselves around the cards that correspond to their team. 5. On the count of three, say and write a random number on the board following the visual example. At this time the children of each team must take the number with the corresponding colors or place value and quickly placed themselves in front of the board (See visual example below). Explain in advance that no one should take away the cards from each other. (Challenge - remove the place value on the board and do not write down the numbers, just say them). 6. The first team to place the complete number in the correct order and visible to the others will be the winning team, racking up their score to reach the target previously set, thus obtaining a final winning team. NOTE: During the game you will see how your students will come up with strategies in order to be the winner, such as designating a student to be a specific place value or by placing or organizing the card by its place value (colors) together, etc., in order to achieve the operation faster. You must bring up these strategies and take a moment to teach them as they arise and at the same time establish the rules that are allowed or not in the game. This game brings a lot of excitement and noise. Book Report templates are a great resource for the classroom. Students practice remembering details about the story they read. They have the opportunity to draw a picture of the story and write one or more sentences, depending on their skills. This resource is valuable for teaching the elements, title, and author to students in small or large groups. Students can also be paired together to read their stories and then complete the book report. Use it for independent Centers if the students are reading on their own. It is suitable for Kindergarten and First grade, depending on reading levels. Reading Strategies: main idea setting character genre sequencing Objective: Students will be able to identify an element (main idea, setting, character, sequencing, and genre) LESSON PLAN FOR EACH Comprehension Element (lesson plan is for Reading to Students) Monday - Introduce the element. Use short story books to demonstrate the element. If you haven't introduced Title and Author this is a great time to do so. Tuesday - Review the element. Review the title and author. Reread a story from the day before for students to identify the element in the story. Direct the students to help you write a sentence about the story/element. Have students copy it to paper. Wednesday -. Read a story that matches the element you will teach. Direct the students to discuss the identity of the element. Have them write their own sentence on paper. Thursday - Reread the story from Wednesday. discuss the element again discuss the title and the author pass out the 2 pages printed back to back and walk students through completing the book report Friday - Review and direct those students who need to complete their reports. This is a ten page PDF. There are 5 different lessons, 1 for each element.
