Squirrels: Kindergarten Science Projects Although the photos are of grey squirrels, the lesson notes can equally apply to red squirrels. I like to help teachers use creatures that are commonly seen by children to explore the natural world, which is the building block of science. By using creatures with which children are familiar, we can cover much of the science curriculum in a way that the children will remember.
