Fall Alphabet Memory Game – Uppercase ABC Cards
Holiday & Seasonal, ESL, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Pre-Reading, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Seasons, Fall, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards, Word Problems
Fall Alphabet Memory Game – Uppercase ABC Cards ABC Picture Cards for Letter Recognition and Word Building This fall alphabet memory game is made with uppercase letters only, from A to Z. Each card shows one bold capital letter together with a simple fall picture, such as B with bat or P with pumpkin . I started using it at the beginning of the school year when my kindergarten class was just learning capital letters, and it quickly became a favorite activity. There are six complete decks of 29 cards each. I like having more than one set because I can give different groups their own deck and avoid cards getting mixed together. The most common way we use the cards is as a memory game, where children flip them over and look for pairs. But there are many other options: putting the alphabet in order on the rug, matching letters I call out, or using a single card as a starting point for a quick word game. The focus on uppercase only makes this resource useful for beginners. Students who are still getting comfortable with print can concentrate on learning one letter form at a time. English learners also benefit from the clear images, since they can connect the picture with the letter sound without feeling overwhelmed. Preparation is simple. Print, cut, and, if you want the cards to last, laminate them. I store mine in small envelopes so they are easy to grab during literacy centers, small group rotations, or as an option for early finishers. The autumn theme makes them seasonal, but the skills they reinforce—recognizing uppercase letters, matching letters with sounds, and developing early vocabulary—are important throughout the year. ABC Game – Match the Letters with a Soccer Twist | Elementary & ESL Similar to Dobble / Spot it! A playful alphabet recognition game for preschool and early elementary (Pre-K to 3st grade) ⚽🔤 This classroom game helps children explore and recognize the letters of the alphabet through play. Based on the well-known “Find the Twin” format (similar to Dobble or Spot It!), this resource invites learners to engage visually and socially while building basic literacy skills. Each card shows six symbols or letters. The goal: find the matching symbol between two cards – as fast as you can! The game can be played in pairs or small groups and is great for active classroom moments, literacy stations, or early finisher time. What I’ve enjoyed about this kind of activity in my own teaching is that it doesn’t require much prep, but it sparks a lot of focus and excitement. It’s also easy to adapt – whether you want to emphasize letter names, sounds, or visual scanning. What’s included: 62 cards total – 2 versions with 31 cards each – Round cards – Cut-out-friendly square cards Each card includes 6 images Clear visuals and simple layout for young learners Instructions included Ideas for classroom use: You can print the cards on regular paper or cardstock. Laminate them for durability if you plan to use them often. I’ve used these games during phonics lessons, as part of morning rotations, or as a “quiet movement” activity when students needed a break from sitting. The structure helps students work on focus, comparison, and visual discrimination – all useful skills for early reading development. At the same time, they practice taking turns and cooperating, which supports classroom community. Simple, flexible, and always well received – this game adds a playful twist to everyday alphabet learning. A low-prep, high-impact way to make learning the alphabet more interactive – and fun. Alphabet Flashcards: Phonetic
ELA, Special Resources, Language Development, Phonics, Pre-Reading, Special Education Needs (SEN), Common Core, Kindergarten, Teacher Tools, Classroom Decor, Flashcards, Worksheets & Printables, Word Walls
Alphabet Flashcards Here is a colourful set of Alphabet Flashcards – sure to delight any child. As a bonus, as I know that some children are transport lovers, I have included two pictures for some letters to provide a form of transport to appeal to these children (i.e.: H for helicopter, R for rocket, L for lorry, F for fire and fire engine, A for ambulance). This set of alphabet flashcards is equally suited to a variety of needs: · The parent with a young child · The teacher in the classroom · The classroom assistant · The SEN teacher · The ESL/EFL teacher They can be used in all situations to help children learn those all-important alphabet/beginning/initial sounds and become familiar with both upper- and lower-case letter shapes. Suggested ways in which to use the Alphabet Flashcards: · Pin them on the wall in order as a display: ask the child to point to the letters either by name, by sound, or by picture (beginning sound). · Look around the house/classroom for things that begin with the same sound as the object on a given flashcard. · Choose several cards (suitable for the needs of the child you are playing with) and lay them out on the table face up: Play I spy: I spy with my little eye something beginning with ‘….’. · Bean bag toss: Lay a selection of flashcards on the floor and give the child a bean bag. Ask – can you toss the bean bag onto the picture that begins with..’..’. · Print duplicates and play snap! · Help the child to put the flashcards in alphabetical order! Format: Four flashcards print to an A4 page, formatted to fit the page on a cheap HP printer. It is advised that the flashcards be laminated to make them more durable. They will get hard wear! What is included? 1 PDF 11 pages 46 pictures (2 for some sounds as indicated above) For a comprehensive set of alphabet flashcards, with letters and 2 sets of picture cards, see here. When children are first starting to learn letter shapes and sounds, it is helpful to have a handy reference chart that they can use to aid recall of letter shapes and a picture cue to the sound each letter stands for.

Alphabet Crafts - Dinosaur Activities - Bible Read Aloud
ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Vocabulary, Spelling, Strategies, Reading, Kindergarten, Preschool, Worksheets & Printables, Coloring Pages, Worksheets, Drawing Templates & Outlines, Flashcards
I created this activities pack because so many kids like dinosaurs, and learning the alphabet is such a foundational skill, sometimes one that isn't learned easily by kids. Teach your pre=readers and reinforce struggling readers learning the alphabet with bright colors and fun dinosaur pictures. Each letter of the alphabet is on a separate page to color as shown in the preview. There are 26 different Bible verses that students can trace and learn and even memorize. And 26 different flashcards with each letter of the alphabet on a separate card, the alphabet in the flashcards is a dinosaur font and can be colored in. Most of the products I create are designed for multiple ages in mind. For example, this product contains simple super large letters of the alphabet that can be colored in even by a toddler who can hold a crayon. Also, this product also contains 16 different dinosaur outlines that can be traced and/or colored. Each is on a separate page and includes the name of the particular dinosaur. Dinosaurs have long names, so these pages can be used to familiarize children with different dinosaurs and even be used for a spelling test where your students have to be able to correctly spell the dinosaurs. Or they could be asked to alphabetize the dinosaur sheets in order. Also included in this awesome dinosaur and alphabet activity pack is 16 different dinosaur outlines to color (one on each page) with the name of the dinosaur spelled out in a font that can be colored in. Dinosaurs included: Acanthopholis Ankylosaurus Dilophosaurus Diplodocus Gallimimus Iguanodon Ouranosaurus Parasaurolophus Pteranodon Saurolophus Stegosaurus Styracosaurus Triceratops Tyrannosaurus Rex Valdosaurus Velociraptor As you can see, the dinosaur names are challenging even for the best spellers, including me! Even though there are no specific questions regarding these dinosaurs in this product, you could assign specific dinosaurs to your older students, to look up and research and write an essay.

Alphabet Flashcards | Printable Phonetic Flashcards
ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Preschool, Kindergarten, Grade 1, Worksheets & Printables, Flashcards
A beautiful set of 26 alphabet flashcards complete with my own hand-painted watercolor wildlife illustrations. Each card features the upper case, lower case, and the animal's name in either print or pre-cursive handwriting font - Ideal for children to use as copy work. To create a tactile finished item I highly recommend printing onto high-quality paper, I like to use watercolor paper as this also allows the children to add their own paintings to the pages they create and means that every piece looks and feels like an original painting.

Phonics, Language Development, ELA, Pre-Reading, Spelling, Vocabulary, Strategies, Reading, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Flashcards
This resource is a BUNDLE of the Dolch Sight Words Flash Cards and the Fry Sight Words Flash Cards. Learn the 220 common sight words and 95 nouns from the Dolch Sight Words list, and 1000 modern common sight words from the Fry Sight Words list with this resource. Flash Cards introduce words and promote comprehension through memorization and repetition. They can be used in a group setting or individually for practice. This set includes a teacher guide, the Dolch sight words flash cards, the Fry sight words flash cards, and blank flash cards. These Flash Cards can be used to help students begin their literacy journey. The individual titles included in this BUNDLE are: DOLCH SIGHT WORDS Flash Cards and FRY SIGHT WORDS Flash Cards. About this Combined Resource: This resource includes all 315 Dolch Sight Words and 1000 Fry Sight Words in a Flash Cards format. Organized in groups of 10, teachers can cut out each flash card for easy use with their students. The Flash Cards are separated by grades and nouns. Teachers can choose to focus on cards by grade, or mix them up for an overall activity . Included in this resource are customized origami-styled envelopes that can be used to keep each set of Flash Cards organized. Instructions on how to fold the envelopes can be found on page 4. About Flash Cards: Flash Cards are small cards that have a little amount of information on them. These cards are held up for students to see to help with learning. Flash Cards can be used in groups as drill activities, or alone for private study. Although Flash Cards can contain any form of information, for the purposes of this resource, each Flash Card contains a vocabulary word. Overall, Flash Cards are used as a learning drill to help with memorization through repetition. Students can quickly and easily learn vocabulary words by using Flash Cards in their everyday study. Flash Cards exercise the mental processes of students’ brains. With repeated practice, students will learn to associate words with their spelling. About Dolch Sight Words: In 1948, Edward William Dolch, PhD created his list of the most common 220 words and 95 nouns in children’s books. These words were then divided into grade levels, including pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs. Nouns made up a separate list of 95 words. The list used 220 “service words” that should be easily recognized in order for students to become fluent in reading. The Dolch words are “Sight Words” because many of them cannot be sounded out. Instead, they must be learned by sight. In other words, memorization. These sight words provide a basis for reading at a young age. Students must become familiar with these words as they begin to read in order to become successful readers as they progress through their academic career. About Fry Sight Words: In 1996, Dr. Edward B. Fry expanded on Dolch’s list of 220 Sight Words and 95 common nouns. This list included 1000 of the most common words used in the English language ranked by frequency. Labeled as “Instant Words”, Fry’s list came to be known as “Fry Words”. These words are typically broken down into groups of 100, and separated by grades kindergarten to first grade, second to third grade, and fourth to fifth grade. Learning all 1000 words in this modern list of Sight Words will allow students to be able to read about 90% of the words used in a typical book.
