The problems involve realistic scenarios around money, population, video game scores, daily step counts, and more! Use rounding and benchmarks to estimate a solution before calculating. Calculate the solution with the standard algorithm. Think of another way to reach the solution: this encourages your students to attempt using multiple methods. They can share their ideas with one another. Self-assess their skills. A simple 5-point scale is included so students can assess their competency on four different skills from the lesson. This is a great way for them to determine what they need more practice on. How to Use: Print a 6-page package for each student Go over the first page as a class to review the definitions and complete the sample problem together.
