Your Students Will: Learn the definitions of addition, subtraction, and estimating. Determine which operation to use (addition or subtraction) to solve a real-life word problem. The problems involve realistic scenarios around money, population, video game scores, daily step counts, and more! Use rounding and benchmarks to estimate a solution before calculating. Calculate the solution with the standard algorithm. Think of another way to reach the solution: this encourages your students to attempt using multiple methods.
