Converting Units of Weight Task Cards and Power Point Slides

Welcome to the world of task cards! Your 5th graders and 6th graders are sure to enjoy this unique style of learning. You’ll also love the versatility and year-over-year usage. This particular set of task cards was designed to help your learners practice and/or review the concept of converting units of weight measurement. Specifically, they will solve problems involving ounces, pounds, tons, milligrams, grams, and kilograms. This is the perfect activity to use at the end of a math unit that focuses on measurement, as it will provide your learners with the opportunity to showcase the skills they’ve learned. Task cards are great in that they can be used in a variety of educational environments, including indoors and outdoors. Not only that, but they can be a learning tool with large groups or small groups. With this product you will find a corresponding set of PowerPoint slides. Each slide is a larger version of the task cards. They work well with whole class learning and allow you to easily and quickly assess your learners’ level of understanding the concepts. The PowerPoint slides are in full color, while the task cards are available in a color version, as well as a black & white version. Both versions are identical. As learners work their way through the 20 cards, they will write their answers on the Answer Recording Sheet. This sheet comes two to a page to reduce the number of copies you will make and the amount of ink/toner you will use. Finally, an answer key is provided for your use.
