Data Management Unit Task
About This Product
This is a Data Management Unit Task resource that is ready to use!
The task for students:
Your task will be to come up with 2 of your own survey questions (that are related) and
conduct these surveys. Your question must be meaningful – meaning there is a purpose for
you asking this question. It cannot be simply out of your own curiosity, but rather should be
tied to an event or change you want to make. One of your questions should collect
categorical data, and the other should collect numerical data. Remember to avoid bias
when you are creating your survey question.
Next, you will collect this data in a way that you think is appropriate and create a graph on
Google Sheets to represent this data. It is up to you which type of graph you choose to use to
represent your data but remember that it must be appropriate and fitting. Remember to
make sure you don’t present your data in a misleading way.
Finally, you will calculate the mean, median and mode for your numerical data (show your
work) and tell me what those result mean in relation to your data. You will also tell me which
measure of central tendency best describes your set of data.
