About Tone & Voice

In our blog, we strive to maintain an authentic, engaging and empowering tone and voice that truly allows educators to shine.

Our audience values insight drawn from real-life experiences that they can learn from or identify with. As a guest writer, we encourage you to infuse your writing with your personal touch, underlining the unique viewpoint and educational expertise that you bring to the table. We highly value and appreciate content that showcases your personal experiences and stories, as it lends a relatable and realistic tone to the pieces you create.

Furthermore, we want you to leverage your individual expertise. Your wealth of knowledge and skills is the core foundation that strengthens our educational community. So, make your narrative personal, display your proficiency, and let your voice resound through every word you pen down.

Content Guidelines

Our blog prioritizes original, well-researched, and insightful articles that cater to the interests of our audience, composed mainly of educators, homeschoolers and teachers. There are two types of content we produce:

Keyword Focused

  1. Product Listicles
  2. Educational & Informational Articles

Editorial Focused

  1. News & Current Events
  2. Editorial Articles Based on Experience/Expertise

Formatting

Article Structure and Formatting

We expect all submitted articles to adhere to a clear, coherent structure that supports easy reading and comprehension. Start with a compelling introduction, followed by well-defined sections, each with a clear heading (H1/H2/H3 structure). This allows readers to quickly understand your article’s focus and easily navigate through your content.

Textual Elements

Enhance your content with various textual elements such as bullet points, lists, bold and italics as well as tables to highlight key points, and include relevant quotes where appropriate. These additions can greatly improve the readability of your content, making it more engaging for our audience.

Keyword Usage

For SEO purposes, we provide a keyword for your article. Please ensure this keyword is integrated into the following areas: the title, the meta description, and both the first and last paragraphs of the article. This strategic placement can significantly boost the visibility and reach of your content. Everything else should be natural.

Image Handling

Any product or website you mention in your article should be accompanied by relevant images. Please provide images as .jpeg files and the URL for reference/credit. If referencing social media, provide URLs so we can embed these directly into the article. We do not require you to provide stock or filler images, as our team will take care of these.

Fluff

No fluff or fillers, please. We don’t want this to read like a food blog 🙂

Promotion

Bio, Byline & Image

We believe in giving our writers the recognition they deserve. With each published article, we include a brief author bio and a professional headshot if you choose. Your name will also be listed on the author’s page. Please provide these along with your first submission. The author bio should highlight your current role, expertise, and any notable achievements.

Product Placements

We understand the value that well-integrated product suggestions can add to an article, offering readers tangible tools and resources to apply the ideas and strategies discussed. Therefore, we highly encourage you to incorporate relevant product placements from our marketplace into your article where applicable. You are welcome to suggest your own products as part of these placements, providing they are directly relevant to the content of the article. However, in order to maintain balance and fairness, we request that you limit self-promotion to a maximum of two to three of your own products per article. Additionally, please endeavor to feature products from a diverse range of contributors. This approach helps enrich the content, provides varied perspectives and resources, and fosters a community spirit within our marketplace.

We appreciate that our guest writers come from diverse backgrounds and many have their own personal blogs or websites. To acknowledge your individual platform and work, we allow the inclusion of one link to your personal blog or website within the article or in your author bio. However, please note that links to other competitive marketplaces are not permitted.

AI Usage and Plagiarism

While we acknowledge the value of AI in enhancing the writing process, we strive to maintain a predominantly human touch in our content. As such, we permit a maximum of 35% AI-written content in each article. This allows for the effective use of AI for tasks such as data analysis, idea generation, or grammatical corrections while ensuring that the majority of the article remains a product of your individual insight and creativity.

In addition, we implement a stringent quality control process. Every submitted article is passed through two separate AI and plagiarism content detectors to ensure originality and adherence to our AI usage guidelines. This process helps us maintain the highest standards of authenticity and quality in our content, and we appreciate your cooperation in complying with these guidelines. Please bear in mind that articles found to exceed the AI usage limit or contain plagiarized content will not be accepted.

How to Get Started

Choosing an Article Topic

To ensure a diverse yet cohesive collection of content, we maintain a master article list that outlines potential topics for our blog and is updated regularly. There are plenty of topics to choose from. The list is created with a focus on keyword research. On this list, you will find some helpful information such as:

  • Content-Type
  • Keyword
  • Approximate Length
  • Notes

We invite you to explore this list to find a topic that resonates with your expertise and interests. To gain access to this list, please email us at blog@teachsimple.com

Once you have selected a topic, please place your name, email, and the current date next to it. This allows us to keep track of who is writing about what and prevents duplication of content.  Your selected topic will be reserved exclusively for you for a period of 30 days from the date you sign up. This gives you ample time to research, write, and refine your article. If we do not receive your article within these 30 days, the topic will be released back to the list for other writers to choose from.

Submission & Editorial Process

Each submitted article undergoes an editorial review process to ensure it aligns with our standards and policies. As part of this process, we evaluate the article’s SEO (Search Engine Optimization) performance to ensure it aligns with best practices and can reach a wider audience. We also thoroughly check the content for adherence to our policies, which includes guidelines on tone and voice, content type, plagiarism, AI usage, product placements, and personal linking. We may add or remove parts of the article in this process.

While we truly value each submission and the effort put into it, we want to make it clear that submission does not guarantee publication. If an article is found to be inconsistent with our guidelines or if it needs significant revisions, it may not be published. Our primary aim is to maintain a high-quality, reliable source of content for our readers. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this, and we look forward to receiving your unique contributions.
