Practice reading words with the prefix INTER- with these sentence reading rings. Students will read words with the prefix inter- in the context of sentences. Each card also includes a bold and colorful image to illustrate each sentence and to help students to learn the meanings of each word. What is Included: This resource includes one reading ring activity for the prefix inter. There are cards each featuring a different word with the prefix inter, with a sentence using the word in context and an image to illustrate that sentence. When to Use Early Finishers - If students finish their work early, they can use these reading rings for extra practice. Small Group Work - Teachers can use these reading rings to target small groups of students who need more practice reading words with prefixes. Independent Practice - Students can work independently at their desks to read this set of prefix cards. Morning Work - Students can read and review this reading ring for morning work as their classmates arrive to class. How to Make: Teachers will print out the pages and cut each card apart. Once cut apart, the teacher can choose to laminate the cards for durability. Then, use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top left corner of the card. Tips for the Classroom QR Codes are a great center activity as students can use them independently. This letter C beginning sounds and handwriting activity includes real photographs to practice learning to recognize, write and identify the sound of the letter C. Each picture has bold colors and includes easily recognized pictures. Each activity can be used in a literacy center for students to practice letter recognition. What is Included: There is an instructional page with printing instructions. There are letter C posters with various letter C words. There are handwriting task cards that allow students to practice writing the letter C as well as words that begin with the letter C. There are beginning sound clip cards that allow students to practice clipping the images that begin with the letter C There is a sorting activity where you sort pictures that begins with C from words that do not begin with C. The letter C sorting cards that can also be used to play memory, matching, or concentration games. These cards can also be used during a lesson in a pocket chart as well as for a center display. When to Use: All of the activities make great literacy centers, by placing each set of activities in the center and letting students complete activities alone or with a partner. These activities make great morning tub activities. Just place these activities in morning bins for students to complete as their classmates arrive to class. Skills Assessed: These activities assess letter recognition skills, beginning sounds, handwriting, and sorting skills. Each activity in this set is low prep. Writing Center Words & Write-the Room Activity – FALL

Let's write about Autumn! Help your students write about fall fun with these sixteen autumn themed words and images for your K-2 classroom Writing Center . Words with images include tree, falling leaves, leaf, rake, tractor, hayride, pumpkin patch, pumpkin, hay bale, corn on the cob, corn field, scarecrow, harvest, acorn, and squirrel. My students LOVE the Writing Center ! I have lots of tools and “help” available for them, plus these themed word pages which they adore. I print two of of these, so there is no argument about having to share, and I laminate them for durability before placing in the Writing Center . Students can easily grab one and use it to help write their stories. Page 4 of the PDF is for the Writing Center . Print and laminate one or two and place it in the Writing Center for your students to access as needed. Also included are 16 cards for a Write–the–Room activity if you choose to use them. (I have only used this with my Kindergarten class.) These cards are four-per-page, with the same words and images used for the Writing Center . Pages 5-8 of the PDF are cards for use as a Write-the-Room activity. You may wish to laminate for durability to be able to use year-after-year, and use sticky tack (poster putty) to mount it to walls, bookshelves, file cabinets, etc. I find this is easier than tape. On of my grade-level teachers prints in gray scale, tapes them up, and then lets students take them home after use. Whatever works best for you. Recording pages for the Write-the-Room are included on pages 9 and 10. Page 9 is a full-size recording sheet, and page 10 has 2 half-size recording sheets if you use mini-clip boards like I do. Please note - the first three pages are for "packaging" purposes.

Choose your favourite from each letter and hang them as your alphabet! 4) Print some images from each letter (4 or 6 per page) to use as flashcards to help reinforce sounds. If you laminate them, they could be a centre in your classroom. 5) Finally, if you print two cards from each letter, you can use them for a challenging memory matching game! IG Words Matching Mats

Students can practice reading comprehension skills with these IG word family mats. Students can practice reading IG words in isolation and in the context of sentences. The words in this set follow a CVC or CCVC spelling pattern. Included in this resource: This resource includes one word mat and one sentence mat, both for reading IG words in insolation and in context. There are also picture cards that correspond with each word and sentence. To complete this activity, students will read each IG word or sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner to complete this activity. How to Use these Id word Family Mats: The students can simply lay the images on top of the word or sentence. Writing Center Words & Write-the Room Activity –THANKSGIVING

Help your students with their creative writing with these Thanksgiving themed words and images for your K-2 classroom Writing Center . Words with images include: Pilgrim hat,Pilgrims, Native Americans, headdress, Mayflower, Cornucopia, corn, pumpkin, turkey, turkey dinner, wishbone, cranberries, pie, slice of pumpkin pie, family, and Thanksgiving Dinner. My students really love working in the Writing Center ! I have plenty of tools and “help” available to them, and I constantly switch out these themed pages which they can't wait to get their hands on. I print two copies, so there is no arguing about having to share, and I laminate them for durability before placing in the Writing Center . Students can easily grab a laminated word page and use it to help write their stories. Page 4 of the PDF is for the Writing Center . Print and laminate one or two and place it in the Writing Center for your students to access as needed. Also included are 16 cards for a Write–the–Room activity if you choose to use them. (I have only used this with my Kindergarten class.) These cards are four-per-page, with the same words and images used for the Writing Center . Pages 5-8 of the PDF are cards for use as a Write-the-Room activity. You may wish to laminate for durability to be able to use year-after-year, and use sticky tack (poster putty) to mount it to walls, bookshelves, file cabinets, etc. I find this is easier than tape. On of my grade-level teachers prints in gray scale, tapes them up, and then lets students take them home after use. Whatever works best for you. Recording pages for the Write-the-Room are included on pages 9 and 10. Page 9 is a full-size recording sheet, and page 10 has 2 half-size recording sheets if you use mini-clip boards like I do. Please note - the first three pages are for "packaging" purposes.
