Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words

Halloween Domino Game – Numbers 0–30 and Number Words This Halloween domino set offers a seasonal way to practice both numbers and number words from 0 to 30. I started using it in October with my first graders, who were learning to connect written words with digits, and it quickly became a classroom favorite. The familiar domino format makes the rules easy to understand, so students can begin playing right away with very little explanation. The resource includes two full sets of domino cards, 68 pieces in total. The first set shows the standard number and number word pairings. The second set is designed with syllable-style breaks to support early readers who are still developing confidence with longer words. I have found that this version works well for students who struggle with spelling or for English language learners who need extra support with pronunciation. You can choose between different ranges depending on your group: 0–10 for beginners, 0–20 for more practice, or the full 0–30 for advanced learners. Having these options makes it easy to differentiate without preparing separate materials. In my classroom, the dominoes have been used in math centers, during small group rotations, and even spread out on the floor in the hallway for a more active lesson. Students enjoy the movement of placing down cards, and it gives them a sense of progress as the chain grows longer. The game also encourages collaboration, since they need to watch what others are playing and wait for their turn. Prep is straightforward: print the cards, cut them, and laminate if you plan to reuse them. Once the set is ready, it can be stored in a small box or envelope for quick access. This game is most useful in kindergarten and grade 1, but it can also serve as extra practice for students in grade 2 who need reinforcement with number words. It combines literacy and math in a simple activity that brings a little Halloween atmosphere into the lesson while staying focused on learning. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Grocery Game: Estimating, Adding, and Multiplying Decimals - Fall Edition
Holiday & Seasonal, Seasons, Fall, Holidays, Back To School, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Math, Decimals, Money, Grade 4, 5, 6, 7, Activities, Games
Do you want your students to practice loads of decimal operations and money math without using a worksheet? Try this fun math game that your whole class can play while they pretend to grocery shop and stick to a budget! Here is a brand new version of my popular grocery game. There are three rounds included (Back to School, Halloween, and Thanksgiving) with five food items in each round! This math game allows students to practice estimating, adding, and multiplying with decimal numbers in a fun and engaging way! It is a fun, whole class math game that you need to be able to project in your classroom on an interactive whiteboard. Students follow along using scrap paper or a mini whiteboard to complete their calculations. As students play, they practice estimating to stay within a pre-determined shopping budget. They have to multiply & add with decimal numbers: great applied math! Since this is a PowerPoint Presentation, you are able to move the boxes covering the price of each item after students make their guess: just like a real game show! Instructions: 1) Decide on a target range. A higher range will require more challenging multiplication. If the range is tighter, it will be more difficult to win. I usually use a range such as $50-$52. 2) Tell students they must buy at least 4 of the 5 products. Students need to have a piece of paper and a pencil for calculations. 3) Choose a student to pick the first product. She needs to estimate the price for one of them, decide how many she wants to buy, and estimate how much that will cost. “I think the cheese is about $5, I want 3, so that will be around $15.” 4) Then show the price (by moving the red box with your cursor), and all students calculate the cost by hand. For example, 3 x 5.75 = 17.25. This is the start of the running total. 5) Choose another student to buy the second product. Again, have him or her estimate before calculating. Then allow all the students to calculate the cost of the second product. For example 4 x 3.19 = 12.76. 6) Now students have to switch from multiplying to adding decimals. They add the price of the second product to their running total. 17.25 + 12.76 = 30.01 7) Continue with the third, fourth, and fifth (if necessary) product. 8) Students try to spend between $50-52. It’s not always easy! Talk to the class about different strategies such as saving an inexpensive product for the end. Grades to Use With: This is a fun math game for grades 4-7 when you are studying money, grocery shopping, and decimal operations. Even kids in middle school will have fun playing along! What's Included: 5-Page PowerPoint Presentation with 3 Rounds and Teacher Instructions If you enjoy this math game, check out my other rounds: Original Grocery Game Spring Grocery Game Winter Grocery Game

Spider Alphabet Cards
ELA, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Halloween, Holidays, Holiday & Seasonal, Kindergarten, Preschool, Activities, Flashcards, Worksheets & Printables, Games
These spider themed alphabet cards are perfect for students who are learning with a spider theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the alphabet. What is Included: This set includes one capital letter card and one lowercase letter card for each letter. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the capital letters to the lowercase letters. Attach a paper clip to a letter card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the letters for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the letters on each card. Have students find the letters that you have hidden around the room for a fun letter hunt. Place the letter cards in alphabetical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the letters. The students will guess which letter the hidden picture is behind. Add objects that begin with each letter for students to match to each letter card. When to Use: Literacy Center - Place the cards in a literacy center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying letters to use these cards. These spider alphabet cards are a great activity for students to practice letter recognition. They are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. Simply print, cut apart and laminate for durability. These cards can be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. Skills Assessed: These cards, depending on the materials added, can assess both letter recognition of capital and lowercase letters as well as identifying beginning sounds.

Halloween Alphabet Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards Early Literacy
Holiday & Seasonal, ESL, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Children’s Literature, Literature, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards, Word Problems
Halloween Alphabet Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Early Literacy This Halloween card set is based on the familiar “ Spot It” style game but adapted for alphabet and early literacy practice. I like to bring it out in late October when my class is full of energy but still needs structured learning. The mix of playful competition and letter recognition makes it a good fit for both Pre-K and early elementary groups. The set includes 93 cards in total, arranged as three complete decks with 31 cards each. Every card shows six different Halloween-themed pictures. The fun part is that any two cards always share exactly one picture in common. Students race to find the match between their card and the one in the center pile. Whoever names it first keeps the card. The round continues until the stack is finished, and the player with the most cards wins. There are three versions of the cards: round, square, and hexagonal. I usually print one full set, laminate it, and keep it in a small box for the season. The round cards feel most like the original game, while the square version is quicker to cut. The hexagons are eye-catching and add variety. In my kindergarten group, this game helped students practice quick recognition of letters and pictures. It also encouraged turn-taking and teamwork. For ESL learners, the visual clues and repeated naming of pictures gave extra support with vocabulary. Some of my students even started making up their own rules, such as timed rounds or team challenges, which kept the activity fresh. The game works well in literacy centers, as a short brain break, or as an activity for early finishers. It requires very little preparation beyond printing and cutting. Because it is flexible in design, you can use just part of the deck if you want a shorter game. This resource is best suited for preschool, kindergarten, and grade 1, but I have also seen older students enjoy it simply as a seasonal challenge. It is a playful way to bring some Halloween atmosphere into the classroom without losing the focus on learning. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Halloween Number Words Game – “Who Has It?” Numbers 0–30
Holiday & Seasonal, Language Development, ELA, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Math, Early Math, Numbers, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards
Halloween Number Words Game – “Who Has It?” Numbers 0–30 This Halloween-themed version of the classic “Who Has It?” game gives students a playful way to practice numbers and number words from 0 to 30 . I first tried it with a small group during October, when energy levels were high and attention spans were short, and it turned out to be a great balance of movement, listening, and speaking. The set includes two full versions, with 72 cards in total. One version shows the number words in standard print, while the other version has the words split into syllables. I often use the syllable cards with younger learners or with students who are still gaining confidence in reading longer words like seventeen or twenty-one . For more advanced readers, the standard cards are enough. The game is flexible in terms of number range. You can play just with numbers 0–10 for beginners, extend to 0–20 for a bit more challenge, or use the full 0–30 set. This makes it possible to adapt the game across different groups or levels without needing to prepare new materials. Here’s how it works: each student gets one or more cards. The student with the “Start” card begins by saying, “I have zero. Who has one?” The student holding “one” continues, and the game moves on until the final “End” card is reached. I have found that students enjoy the rhythm of the activity, and because everyone has to listen carefully for their turn, it supports attention and listening comprehension too. The cards can be used in whole-class lessons, small groups, or as a math center activity. They also work well for early finishers, since the game doesn’t require a lot of explanation once the rules are understood. The blank cards included in the set allow you to adjust for different class sizes or add your own variations. Preparation is straightforward: print, cut, and, if you’d like, laminate for durability. Once the cards are ready, they can be reused year after year. This game supports number recognition, number word reading, listening, speaking in full sentences, and classroom collaboration—all within a light Halloween theme that adds just enough seasonal fun without distracting from the learning goal. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we focus on creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.

Halloween Number Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Numbers 0–30

Halloween Number Matching Game – Spot It Style Cards for Numbers 0–30 This Halloween number game is designed in the style of “Spot It,” but with a focus on number recognition from 0 to 30 . I first tried it with a kindergarten group who were working on number sense and one-to-one matching, and it quickly became a favorite activity. The Halloween images give it a seasonal feel, but it stays simple enough for young learners to use without distraction. The set comes with 93 cards , divided into three full decks of 31 cards each. Every card shows six numbers, and any two cards always have exactly one number in common. Students compare their card with the one in the center pile and race to spot the matching number. The first to call it out keeps the card. Play continues until the pile is finished, and the player with the most cards wins. There are three versions of the cards included: round, square, and hexagonal. I usually prepare one laminated set to use in math centers, while keeping the printer-friendly square cards as a backup. The hexagonal cards are fun if you want to offer a different look, and they tend to spark extra interest. This game supports a range of early math skills. Students practice number recognition, visual scanning, and quick decision-making. In small groups, it also helps with social learning – taking turns, encouraging others, and coping with both winning and losing. For some of my ESL students, saying the numbers out loud during the game provided extra practice with pronunciation. It works well in centers, as a transition activity, or as an option for early finishers. The preparation is minimal: just print, cut, and, if you’d like, laminate for durability. Because the game can be played quickly, it fits easily into a short block of class time. Recommended for Pre-K, kindergarten, and grade 1, though older students might enjoy it as a light challenge. This resource combines the excitement of a Halloween theme with meaningful math practice, and it can be reused year after year. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? Halloween Alphabet Memory & Word-Building Cards – Printable Game
Holiday & Seasonal, ESL, Language Development, ELA, Spelling, Pre-Reading, Special Resources, Special Education Needs (SEN), Halloween, Holidays, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, Activities, Games, Worksheets & Printables, Task Cards, Quizzes and Tests, Teacher Tools, Quizzes, Projects, Flashcards, Word Problems
Halloween Alphabet Memory & Word-Building Cards – Printable Game for Early Literacy This Halloween-themed alphabet game combines memory, word-building , and flashcard activities in one printable set. I like using it around late October, when students are full of seasonal excitement but still need meaningful literacy practice. The cards bring a festive touch without being too spooky for younger children. The set includes 29 different picture cards, each available in six color variations. Altogether, that makes 174 cards to choose from, which gives you flexibility in how you organize activities. You can play a classic memory game by matching letters and pictures, or you can use the cards for simple word-building tasks. In my kindergarten group, students enjoyed laying out the alphabet in order, while in grade 1, they started experimenting with making short words on their own. Because the cards are printable, you can decide how many to use at once. For early learners, I sometimes put out only a few letters so they don’t get overwhelmed. For older or more advanced students, I add time challenges or ask them to work in pairs to build longer words. ESL and EFL students also benefit from the clear visuals, which make the letter-sound connection easier to grasp. I recommend printing the cards on heavier paper and laminating them so they last beyond one season. Once prepared, they are easy to store in small envelopes or plastic bags, and you can bring them out again whenever you need a quick center activity or sub plan. This resource works well for literacy centers, partner games, or even as a calm activity at the end of the day. Whether you are focusing on alphabet recognition, phonics, or just want a light Halloween activity, the cards give you a simple, adaptable tool that supports both independent learning and group play. Warm regards, Lernfitness Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we focus on creating a positive and inspiring learning environment.
